Cook Children's Health Foundation

Cook Children's Health Foundation Cook Children's Health Foundation connects the generosity of our communities with children in need. Join us in making a difference! cookchildrenspromise.org

Like all nonprofit organizations, Cook Children's relies on philanthropic contributions to support its Promise to improve the health of every child in our region. Without the necessary funds, some of our newest programs, such as the Sit, Stay, Play canine therapy and Funnyatrics therapeutic medical clown program would not be possible. This is where Cook Children’s Health Foundation comes in. The p

rimary objective of the foundation is to raise the funds necessary for Cook Children’s to care for our patients. We are fortunate to be located in a community where so many have a heart for philanthropy. The corporations, foundations and individuals here have long been invested in helping those in need. What is truly amazing is that the sense of social responsibility that inspired the formation of Cook Children’s Hospital and Fort Worth Children’s Hospital so many decades ago, has clearly been passed down from generation to generation. Thanks to you, our faithful donors, we can purchase new equipment, keep our technology on the cutting edge and grow the programs that are directly impacting the lives of our patients and families. Your generous support ensures that no child is ever turned away and that our community is on its way to becoming one of the healthiest to raise a child.

🐕 Tail wags, smiles, purpose

When companies sponsor Yappy Hour, they're not just funding an event, they're helping create moments of magic for Cook Children’s patients and giving their teams a volunteer experience they'll never forget.

Their support helps our Sit… Stay… PLAY! facility dogs show up for patients every day- providing cuddles, encouragement and a reason to smile when it's needed most.

Spiritual Care nurtures the heart of Cook Children’s. In times of uncertainty, theologically and clinically trained chaplains help patients and families find support and meaning.

They compassionately care for all ages and spiritual identities while providing resources such as sacred texts, religious-based dietary options, prayer supplies, grief support and more.

Spiritual Care relies on the generosity of the community. Your gifts make a tangible difference!

Stella comes to Cook Children's to treat thalassemia, a rare blood disorder that can lead to anemia. Her monthly blood transfusions mean she quickly developed a bond with her care team over the past three years.

🏠 “They want us to feel comfortable and at home. We know several of the nurses so it’s like having a reunion every month when we come back,” says Stella’s mom.

At each visit, she looks forward to catching up with her favorite nurses and Child Life staff. She never misses a chance to do arts and crafts in the infusion clinic or hang out in the patient activity room.

🧶The dependable care she receives means Stella’s blood disorder doesn’t control her life. She’s able to throw herself into the things she loves, like reading, crocheting and swimming. She also has spent the last year as an advocate for Cook Children’s, attending events and telling her story to thank those that support us so generously.

Thank you, Stella!
