The hardest part of being a postpartum doula? Saying goodbye. 🥹
Every family holds a special place in my heart, but there is nothing quite like the bittersweet feeling of a final night shift. It's a night filled with extra reassurance, packing up the routine we built together, and helping parents feel fully confident to fly solo. Wishing this beautiful family all the love in the world as they take on this next chapter! ❤️✨

The postpartum period is a sacred time that is so worthy of protecting and nurturing. It’s a genuine pleasure for me that I’m so honored to be a part of every single time. A postpartum doula is a great resource of knowledge and support to ensure that this is possible for you and your family, however you envision your postpartum journey. ❤️

The greatest gift you can give a new mom is peace of mind. Knowing her baby is safe, held, and loved so she can finally get much needed, earned sleep. It’s a genuine honor to be trusted with such preciousness ❤️

✨Trust your Body, Trust your Baby:
The Pressure of “Bouncing Back”

Truth bomb! You Don’t Have to Bounce Back, nor were you ever meant to:
It’s so important to learn how to slow down after birth. There is arguably too much pressure placed on mothers to “bounce back” after having a baby.
Pressure to:
Bounce back physically.
Bounce back emotionally.
Get back into a routine.
Get your body back.
Get the house back in order.
Get back to being “you.”

But what if you weren’t meant to bounce back?
What if you were meant to grow into someone new?

The postpartum season is not a time to rush yourself back to who you were before pregnancy. It is a time of healing, adjusting, learning, bonding, and becoming this new version of yourself. When you give birth to your new little one, you’re also birthing a new you.

Your Body:

Your body just did something incredible!
It carried your baby, nourished your baby, and brought your baby into the world. Whether you experienced a vaginal birth or a cesarean birth, your body needs time to recover.

Your uterus is healing.
Your hormones are shifting.
Your pelvic floor is recovering.
Your abdominal muscles may be rebuilding.
Your milk supply may be adjusting.
Your sleep is likely completely different.
And sometimes, healing doesn’t look like progress every single day.

Not to mention that Postpartum isn’t only a physical transition. You may find yourself grieving parts of your old life, while being completely in love with your baby. You may feel grateful and overwhelmed at the same time. You may feel confident one moment and wonder, “What am I doing?” the next. Motherhood can hold so many emotions at once. Give yourself permission to feel them without judging yourself for having them.

Things to Remember During Postpartum:
• Healing takes time
• Rest IS productive, and not something you have to earn
• Your worth is not measured by how much you accomplish
• Your home does not need to be perfect
• You do not have to entertain visitors
• Accepting help does not make you weak
• Your body does not need to look the way it did before pregnancy
• You are allowed to move slowly
• You are allowed to ask for help
• You are learning something completely new

And most importantly:

You do not have to do this alone!!

How a Postpartum Doula Can Help:

• Provide nurturing emotional support
• Help with newborn care so you can rest
• Support you with breastfeeding or bottle feeding
• Prepare nourishing meals and snacks
• Assist with light household tasks
• Help you create realistic postpartum rhythms
• Offer reassurance and evidence-based information
• Provide a safe space to talk about the highs and lows of motherhood
• Remind you that you don’t have to have it all figured out

You just gave birth to a baby, remind yourself that you are becoming a mother in a whole new way.

If you’re looking for maternal, non-judgmental support during your postpartum season, I would love to walk alongside you!!
