We’re so proud of Rachel’s Sobriety! 🫶
Her story 👇
Today, something is different.
For the first time in a very long time, I don’t have that constant desire to use. The fantasizing about drugs, the mental battles, that part of my mind that always seemed to find its way back to getting high — it has finally been lifted. I know recovery is a journey, and I will continue to protect it every single day, but the peace I feel today is something I struggled for years to find.
My priorities have changed. Today, I focus on my family, my recovery, and my relationship with Christ. I am learning to appreciate the little things. I am learning to be present. I am learning to live one day at a time instead of constantly running from my past or chasing something that was never going to fill the emptiness inside me.
After 32 years of addiction, there is damage. There are memories I struggle to piece together. There are things I regret and moments I wish I could go back and change. My mind is still healing, and slowly, little by little, the clarity is returning. I am learning who I am without drugs. I am learning how to live again.
And you know what? I am proud of the woman I am becoming.
