💡Stay hydrated during summer workouts and outdoor activities! Do you know all of these important hydration related tips?

*2-hour rule: Drink 20 ounces of water approximately 2 hours before working out, for early morning workouts- start sipping water as soon as you can.

* For workouts under 60 minutes- water is fine, for longer workouts supplement with an electrolyte blend.

* Sip throughout your workout, don't gulp.

* For post-workout recovery, drink 20-24 ounces of water for every pound of sweat lost during the workout.

* Rest in the shade whenever possible and keep sipping water throughout the day.

* Tired of only drinking your hydration? Supplement with water-rich foods like watermelon, cucumber, strawberries, and celery!

Try this to work up to a full pull up!

1️⃣ Start with warming up the shoulders and get the shoulder blades moving. 2️⃣Followed by a serrated pull up to work on scapular and muscle control needed to start a pull up.
3️⃣ Finally, eccentric pull ups to increase strength needed for a full pull up!

📣 We are pleased to welcome Lauren, PTA, to our Mesa Baywood clinic!

Lauren is originally from the northwest suburbs of Illinois and has lived in Arizona since 2006. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Arizona State University and her Associate of Applied Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Gateway Community College.

With more than seven years of outpatient experience, Lauren has worked with a diverse patient population ranging from young athletes returning to sport to geriatric patients working to improve functional strength, mobility, and balance. She is certified in Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and kinesiology taping, and she enjoys incorporating cupping techniques into individualized treatment plans to support recovery and performance.

Outside of the clinic, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, going to the movies, and playing the ukulele.

📣 We are pleased to welcome Alex, PT, to our Peoria clinic!

Alex is an Arizona native who was a student athlete at Grand Canyon University and then attended Midwestern University for his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. He enjoys treating patients of all ages with his main passion of getting athletes back on the field and playing the sport they love. In his spare time, Alex enjoys working out, going to sporting events, and spending quality time with his family.
