Myth: ABA only happens at a therapy table.

Reality: ABA can happen anywhere life happens.

ABA therapy is so much more than sitting at a table and completing structured activities. While table work can be a helpful part of therapy, many of the most meaningful learning opportunities happen during everyday moments.

ABA can be incorporated into play, communication, social interactions, daily routines, transitions, mealtimes, getting dressed, following directions, learning independence, and even navigating the community.

Our goal is to help children develop skills that are meaningful and functional in their everyday lives—not simply skills they can demonstrate in a therapy room.

That means creating opportunities for children to practice communicating their wants and needs, interacting with others, making choices, solving problems, becoming more independent, and using the skills they’ve learned across different people, places, and situations.

Learning doesn’t have to look like sitting at a table. Sometimes it looks like playing with a favorite toy, practicing social skills with a peer, working through a transition, learning to ask for help, or discovering a new way to participate in an everyday activity.

ABA should meet the child where they are—and help them take the skills they learn into the world around them.

Because therapy isn’t just about what happens during a session. It’s about building skills that can make a difference in everyday life.

Big things are happening at our McKinney location! 🌟

Because of the incredible families who have trusted us and the amazing growth we've experienced, we've officially outgrown our current space. We're excited to be moving into a bigger, new space that will give us even more room to learn, play, and support the children and families we serve.

This next chapter represents more opportunities, more memories, and an even better environment for our team and clients. We can't wait to welcome you into our new McKinney location and continue growing together. 💙

🎓🏈 A Bittersweet Graduation! 🏈🎓

This week, we celebrated an incredible milestone as one of our amazing kids graduated from our ABA program and is prepared to begin an exciting new chapter. While we are always thrilled to see our kids reach their goals and gain the skills needed to move forward, saying goodbye is never easy.

Over time, he has touched the hearts of our entire team. Through hard work, perseverance, laughter, and countless memories, he has become an important part of our UP family.

Anyone who knows him knows he is a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan. His love for the Chiefs has brought countless conversations, smiles, and excitement throughout his time with us, so when it came time to choose a graduation gift, there was no question what it should be.

As a token of how much he means to us, our team signed a Chiefs helmet for him to take home—a keepsake filled with encouragement, pride, and the signatures of the people who have cheered him on every step of the way. ❤️💛

Watching our clients grow, achieve their goals, and spread their wings is why we do what we do. We couldn't be prouder of all that he has accomplished and all that lies ahead.

Congratulations on your graduation! We know your future is bright, and we will always be your biggest fans. Just like your Chiefs, keep chasing your goals and never stop believing in yourself. 🌟🏈
