October is a special month at DRI. It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a yearly reminder to honor survivors and fighters, remember those we’ve lost and make preventive care a priority.

There are millions of breast cancer survivors in the US. Many are living today because the disease was caught early. The advanced mammogram screenings we have now are helping to catch more breast cancers in the early stages, when they’re easiest to treat.

To the women in our community, we invite you to take control of your own breast health this month. Our team can help you schedule a mammogram, answer any questions you may have and get you in and out quickly.

A CT scan can detect flaws that are not visible with a traditional X-ray. If you have sustained an injury that could have caused fractures, spinal issues or damage to internal organs, a CT scan may be used to evaluate the injury.

Getting an imaging appointment fast helps catch issues earlier so treatments can start sooner. We schedule most appointments within three days and try very hard to keep wait times less than 15 minutes.

ICYMI: FOX8 recently featured the Mid-State Melon Mashers, a summer collegiate wood bat baseball team, who hosted our DRI Mobile Mammography unit. We are grateful to have been invited to attend the game where we could raise awareness of early detection for breast cancer and make screening more accessible.
