There’s nothing in life quite like a good friend!

Kathy and Bridt have formed a wonderful friendship, sharing meals together each and every day.

As a longtime resident, Bridt has been a tremendous source of support for Kathy, who moved to Edgewood just a few months ago.

"Getting to know Bridt made my move to Edgewood so much easier. It’s been wonderful having a friend to help me settle into my new home," Kathy shared.

The two enjoy spending time together, often bonding over stories about their families and catching up on how everyone is doing. Their conversations flow effortlessly, and they always seem to have something new to talk about.

"We look forward to seeing each other at every meal," they said. "We never seem to run out of things to talk about!"

How wonderful it is to see such a meaningful friendship blossom and grow!

“Don’t wait till you get sick."

Pat LaPlante has a choir to direct and two Christmas performances to prepare for, so her annual flu shot deserves a spot on her busy calendar. At Edgewood Hermantown, Legacy Medical nurse practitioner Anna Rosenberg is nearby to answer Pat’s questions about vaccinations and preventive care. With on-site flu shots available, getting vaccinated doesn’t mean arranging a ride across town.

Meet Pat, 96, a choir director at Edgewood Hermantown who finds purpose, friendship, and convenient support for her health in the community she calls home.

We will be hosting a Halloween Party from 2-5 pm this afternoon in our Bistro Room. Snacks and refreshments will be available as well as trick-or-treating for the kiddos.

What if your next chapter was backed by smart technology to keep you safe?

For Jim, moving to Edgewood Helena meant less managing everything on his own and finding the right support right in time. Not long after moving in, Jim fell and severely injured his arm. Unable to get up on his own, he simply pressed the button on his CarePredict wearable to call for help. His on-site care team responded quickly to the alert through the device, providing immediate support and resources he needed right when he needed them.

His advice for anyone considering assisted living? “The sooner the better! You’re not getting any younger, and you’re better off moving in and getting settled on your own terms.”

And if you ask Jim, he’ll tell you: “I Wish I Would Have Moved Sooner.”
