✨ Meet Dr. Kevin Sharif, leading endoscopic spine surgery at Henderson Hospital.

For years, Dr. Sharif has been one of the few surgeons in the country routinely performing endoscopic decompression of the spine, an ultra-minimally invasive technique most hospitals aren’t equipped for. Henderson Hospital is one of the few in the country with this technology.

In honor of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) day, we’d like to introduce you to Jocelyn! Before joining Henderson Hospital, she worked as a medical assistant in a GI clinic and was encouraged by the physician to explore nursing.

“I completed a CNA course and discovered a deep passion for nursing,” said Jocelyn. And while the COVID-19 pandemic was an incredible challenge, she said, “The uncertainty, high patient volume and emotional toll pushed me to grow both professionally and personally. It taught me resilience, adaptability and the importance of compassion, especially when patients couldn’t have family at their side.”

When asked what she enjoys most about being a CNA, Jocelyn shared, “Making a difference for patients and their families brings me the greatest joy. Whether it’s offering a comforting word, advocating for their needs, or simply being present during difficult times, I love that my work truly matters.”
