Walter Harold Ramsey

Walter Ramsey, 78, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026. He was born on February 2,1948, in his family home in Stovall, Granville County, North Carolina, to the late Woodrow Wilson Ramsey and Mary Williamson Ramsey.

Walter was one of eleven children and grew up surrounded by family, hard work, and the simple joys of country living. From an early age, Walter developed a deep love for farming, a passion that remained with him throughout his life. Whether he was working in the to***co fields, planting crops, tending the land, or caring for farm animals, Walter was happiest on the farm. He loved animals of all kinds, but pigs held a special place in his heart. Over the years, he became known throughout the community for making homemade sausage and sharing his hard work and the fruits of his labor with others. Walter's dedication to farming was unmatched. He loved it so much that even without a truck, he refused to let it stop him. Instead, he used his car to transport cows and pigs in the backseat after buying them from Hollering Hills Auction in Clover, Virginia. This determination, resourcefulness, and love for farming shaped Walter. To him, farming was not simply a way of making a living; it was a way of life. Beyond his love for the farm, Walter was known for his kind and generous heart. He was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need, even if it meant going without himself. He never needed recognition or anything in return. Helping others was simply part of his nature. He understood the value of hard work, appreciated the little things in life, and believed in lending a helping hand whenever he could.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 1, 2026, one hour prior to the service starting at 1:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford. Other times they will receive family and friends at the home of Angela Ramsey, 8697 Amis Chapel Rd., Oxford, NC 27565, Tuesday-Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Saturday from 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Walter leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his daughter, Angela Ramsey; his grandchildren, Lindsey Ramsey (Kevin Keeton), Logan Ramsey, Walter T. Ramsey Jr. "TJ" (Jessica Ramsey), Abigail Ramsey, and Allison Ramsey; and his great-grandchildren, Acaylia, Julian, Cambrin, Willow, Nathan, and Geraldine "Gerri". He is also survived by his brothers, Ulysses "Teddy" Ramsey, William "Buck" Ramsey, Douglas "Doug" Ramsey, and Eugene ("Gene") Ramsey; and his sisters, Ruby Riley and Shirley Jackson. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Ramsey and Mary Williamson Ramsey; his son, Walter Thomas Ramsey "Tommy"; his brothers, Woodrow Ramsey Sr. "Bro", James "Notting" Ramsey, Wayne Ramsey; and his sister, Carol "Pudding" Smith.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford. Burial will follow the service at Stovall Memorial Cemetery in Stovall, NC. Viewing: 1:00 PM Funeral Service: 2:00 PM at Sossamon

Walter's legacy is not measured by material possessions, but by the lives he touched, the kindness he showed, and the memories he leaves behind. His love of farming, generous spirit, and willingness to help others will be remembered forever by his family, friends, and community. Although Walter may no longer walk the fields he loved or tend to the animals that brought him so much joy, his memory will live on in every story shared, every lesson remembered, and every act of kindness passed down through generations. A hardworking farmer, a generous neighbor, and a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

Walter leaves behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to gather to remember Walter's life and the lasting impact he had on those who knew and loved him.

Rev. Keith Franklin Williams

ROUGEMONT, NC — Rev. Keith Franklin Williams Sr., 83, of Rougemont, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Born in Cumberland County in 1943, he was the son of the late Jacob Rozell Williams and Alpha Hoyle Williams. Raised in the mountains of North Carolina, Keith carried throughout his life the strength, determination, and deep-rooted values of his Appalachian upbringing. A true mountain man, he loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and treasured sharing those passions with his family, friends, and especially his best friend, Donnie Morris.

Keith earned an associate degree in divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and faithfully answered God’s call to Christian ministry. He served as pastor of Trinity Baptist Church before being called to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he faithfully served for an extraordinary 38 years. During his ministry at Mt. Zion, he also served as interim Director of Missions for the Flat River Baptist Association. He continued his service to Mt. Zion as Pastor Emeritus.

Keith’s ministry was marked by a genuine love for the Lord, an unwavering commitment to sharing the gospel, and a deep affection for the people entrusted to his care. He was a pastor who understood the people he served because he shared their work, their traditions, and their way of life. Whether in the pulpit, a garden, a hayfield, the woods, or on a lake, Keith’s faith was woven into the everyday moments of life. Over nearly four decades, he dedicated children, baptized believers, united couples in marriage, and comforted families in their grief. His greatest desire was to lead others to Jesus Christ and bring glory and honor to his Lord and Savior.

Above all, Keith loved his family. Though not always one to express his feelings in words, he showed his love through his steadfast presence, practical wisdom, and devotion to those he cherished. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who especially treasured being “Pa” to his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the youth of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Being “Pa” brought out a particularly tender side of him. His family will remember his mountain ways, his stories, his strength, his humor, and the countless lessons he passed down through the years.

Keith’s life was a testimony to God’s strength, equipping, and faithfulness, reflected in his favorite Bible verse: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13). The legacy he leaves behind is found not only in his years of ministry, but also in the many lives he touched, the family he loved, and the generations who will carry his faith forward.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Nell Lee, Carrie Barnhart, Vicki Williams and Willie Sherrill; and four brothers, Edgar, Elmer, Earl, and Ray Williams.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Linda Webb Williams; his children, Shelley Carter (Bobby), Vonda Capps (Scott), and Heath Williams; seven grandchildren, Joseph Capps (Casey), Gabrielle Milian (Michael), Jacob Capps (Cameron), Kayla Craddock (Lee), Taylor Williams, Mia Grace Williams, and Maeve Picard-Williams; and four great-grandchildren, Cooper Capps, Hazel Craddock, Charlie Capps, and Duke Craddock and many nieces and nephews.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Liberty Home Care and Hospice and Duke Hock Family Pavilion for the exceptional care, kindness, and comfort they provided Keith and his family throughout his final journey. Their support will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. William Wheeler, Rev. Wayne Clark, and Rev. Cameron Currin. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Capps, Joseph Capps, Scott Capps, Bobby Carter, Lee Craddock, Michael Milian, Heath Williams, and Taylor Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, specifically the Youth Fund or Choir Fund.

Arrangements are by Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford. Online condolences may be made at www.sossamonfuneralhome.com

She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a brand-new grandmother. She retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Butner in 2018, where she worked for more than two decades as a Quality Assurance Manager for UNICOR.

She was born to the late Lester Lee Richard and Ella Gray Richard in Granville County on January 25, 1964.

Sue’s life was defined by her devotion to her family. She became a mother in 1985 with the birth of Matt, followed by Connor in 1994. After marrying Jim in December 2004, she wholeheartedly embraced her role as stepmom to Cole and Lane. She raised all four of her sons with a strong sense of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, qualities she herself embodied. Working at the prison, she was known for her toughness, strong work ethic, and the respect she earned from those around her. Above all, Sue was selfless, fiercely loyal, and generous to the people she loved most.

Sue had a big personality and had a gift for bringing energy and laughter wherever she went, making her the life of every party. She had a way of making the most of every moment and reminding those around her to have fun. She was at her happiest on her pontoon boat, floating on the lake surrounded by friends, laughter, and a good drink. Her lake friends became her second family, sharing in the moments and memories she treasured most. Sue also enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with her beloved dogs, especially Roxie and Lip, as well as her granddogs. In August, she embraced a new exciting role as Sue Sue to her granddaughter Dani Kate Dickerson.

Sue is survived by her loving husband of more than 20 years, James “Jim” Dickerson of the home; her sons Matthew Faulkner (Kelsey) of Raleigh, Connor Gooch (Eliza), Cole Dickerson (Jenny), and Lane Dickerson (Harley), all of Oxford; and her beloved granddaughter, Dani Kate Dickerson. She is also survived by her brother Randall Richard (Camela) of Bracey, VA; her sister Pam McFalls (Rex) of Creedmoor; and her cherished nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved bulldog, Lip, and her many granddogs.

Sue loved her people fiercely and always made the most of the time she had with them. She was always there in their biggest moments, as well as the small ones. To know Sue was to know how to laugh, have a good time, and love without reservation. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A service will be held Friday, October 23, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Oxford Baptist Church, with visitation to follow.

Patricia Dianne Pruitt

In loving memory of Patricia Dianne Pruitt

Patricia Dianne Pruitt, age 75, passed away on October 10, 2026, at Duke Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, kindness, and devotion to her family.

Born in Vance County, Dianne was the daughter of the late Albert Pendergrass and Lee Allen Pendergrass. She was a wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother whose life was a beautiful reflection of her love for God and for others.

Dianne was the kind of person who never met a stranger. Her warm heart, beautiful smile, and genuine kindness made everyone she encountered feel welcome and loved. She had a special way of making people feel like family, her presence brought warmth and happiness wherever she went. Her smile was a familiar sight, and her caring spirit was a blessing to all who knew her.

Above all, Dianne was a God-loving, faithful servant who lived her life with a deep love for the Lord. Her faith was an important part of who she was, guiding her heart and the way she treated others. She shared God’s love through her kindness, her compassion, and the way she welcomed everyone she met. Her life was a testimony to the beauty of a faithful heart and a life devoted to serving others.

Dianne’s greatest earthly blessing was her family. She was the devoted wife of 58 years to her beloved husband, Edward Calvin Pruitt Sr. Together, they built a life rooted in love, commitment, and family. Their 58 years of marriage were a testament to enduring love and devotion, and the memories they created together will forever be treasured.

As a dedicated wife and mother, Dianne poured her heart into the people she loved most. She took pride in her family and treasured the relationships that made her life so meaningful. Her love was steady, heart was generous, and her family was one of her greatest joys.

Left to cherish her precious memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Edward Calvin Pruitt Sr.; her two sons, Kevin Pruitt (Julie), and Keith Pruitt and wife, Tiffany; and her daughter, Kristy Minish and husband, Mark. and two brothers, Phil Pendergrass and Bobby Pendergrass.

Her family was her heart, and the love she gave them will remain one of her greatest gifts. The lessons she taught, the faith shared, the kindness she showed, and the memories she created will continue to be carried forward by the generations who follow her.

Though her passing leaves a deep hole in the hearts of those who love her, Dianne’s life will never be measured by her absence, but by the countless ways she made this world brighter. Her body may no longer be seen here, but the warmth of her love will remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her welcoming spirit, her unwavering faith, her loving heart, and the beautiful way she made others feel special.
