I had the privilege of having Tiny Home Tours feature my home and story on their channel. Now I’ve been invited to be on their podcast live tomorrow at 4 pm Central time.

My journey to tiny living is interwoven with suddenly becoming a widow and how God helped me begin healing in this next chapter.

Grief has a way of making the loss feel bigger than everything else.

And when your heart is hurting, gratitude doesn’t always come naturally.

But learning to notice what is still good—even in the middle of what is painful—can become an important part of healing.

When I’m struggling to think of something I’m thankful for, I use a simple practice: I go through the alphabet.

A… B… C…

For each letter, I find something I can thank God for. It might be a person, something in creation, a Bible verse, a memory, or something as ordinary as my morning coffee.

It doesn’t erase the grief. It simply reminds me that grief isn’t the only thing that’s true.

I’m known as The Redeemed Widow, and I help Christian widows go from feeling broken to building a meaningful life again. Please reach out if you’re looking for a place where your grief is honored and you can find hope.

Sometimes we already know what we need to do.

We even make the decision to do it.

And then… we talk ourselves right back out of it.

We find reasons to wait.

We tell ourselves maybe we don’t really need it.
We let fear convince us to stay where we are.

Maybe you’ve been thinking about reaching out for support in your life as a widow. You know something needs to change, but taking that step feels scary.

Don’t let fear make the decision for you.

When grief feels this heavy, sometimes you don’t need to figure out how to move forward.

You just need something to hold onto.

Looking back, I can see so many ways God met me in those early days of grief—small lifelines that helped me make it through the moments when I truly didn’t know how I would.

If that’s where you are today, give yourself grace. You don’t have to have the future figured out. Just grab hold of the lifeline God is giving you today. ❤️‍🩹

I share four of the lifelines that helped keep me afloat in my newest YouTube video. You can watch the full video on my YouTube channel, The Redeemed Widow.

When I became a widow, I realized I didn’t just need a different house… I needed a different kind of life.

Simplifying my life has given me more time, less stress, and room to focus on what matters most.

And yes… my no-lawn-mowing streak lives on. 😂

Becoming a widow changes so much more than your circumstances.

It changes you.

Looking back, I can see there were things I needed to let go of if I was going to move forward instead of staying stuck in my grief.

I shared those lessons in my newest blog, and my prayer is that it encourages another widow who may be wondering if she’ll ever find her footing again.

Some widows slowly begin to find hope again.

Others stay trapped in the same place for years.

What’s the difference?

I believe it comes down to four things I consistently see in women who begin moving forward after the loss of their husband. It isn’t about being stronger or “getting over it.” It’s about the choices we make in the middle of our pain.

Jesus asked the man at the Sheep Gate a powerful question:

“Do you want to get well?” (John 5)

That same question invites each of us to honestly examine our own hearts.

Healing often begins with:
✨ Desperation
✨ Desire
✨ Decision
✨ Continuing to follow Jesus, one step at a time

If you’re tired of feeling stuck, I hope this encourages you today.

And if you’re looking for a place to walk this journey with other Christian widows who truly understand what you’re carrying, I’d love to invite you to join The Redeemed Widow Community.
