Building a brand over the last 10 years has been one of my favorite parts.

I've been part of multiple chambers, BNI, MOB, and Net-Perking- to name a lot. As I began building confidence in networking, I started finding my true people. (Including meeting my now-husband!) I have also formed powerful friendships and connections. These folks are not only resources for my clients- but people who are now uncles and aunties to my kiddos and my biggest cheerleaders.

I also really love opportunities to table at events. My favorite opportunities are when I can hang at my kids' schools, but I've also participated in the local Corn Roast, health fairs, Pride events, and (my favorite) Halloween in downtown Hillsboro. My OG marketing tool was the Ancora Squishy Brain- which I still use today. I have also adopted the ABB (Always Be Branding) approach that most entrepreneurs endorse- with Ancora's logo on everything. My Ancora tech shirt has come with me to Ragnar, Hood to Coast, and (of course) the Portland Marathon. I'm happy that "the tree" is recognizable to many, and I love hearing "where have I seen that before?"

Join us for First Tuesday Art Walk on August 4th from 5-8 pm, a free event taking place throughout downtown Hillsboro.

We're welcoming Neerajana Rai to the walls of Ancora with her beautiful abstract realism.

Fueled by both passion and purpose, the artist believes that colors and textures possess a unique ability to soothe and energize at the same time. It soothes anxiety and ignites imagination with possibilities. Neerajana's artistic journey is a continuous exploration of self discovery and expression. Driven by deep belief in the transformative power of art, Neerajana aspires to touch hearts and inspire minds through her vibrant creations, spreading the message " beauty resides within us all, waiting to be unveiled and shared".Her style is "Abstract realism" using medium mixed media oil, leaving areas loose for boosting audience imagination and realism in forms. Drawing inspiration from beauty around her, she loves to paint nature like birds, flowers, trees, animals and landscapes.

I ate three whoppers last week. I swear (a lot). I'm unapologetically anti-fascist (comes with the social worker thing). And I deeply love this work and the opportunity to help shape our Hillsboro community.

We always offer free consultations at Ancora Wellness- I recognize that I'm not everyone's cup of tea. Have a free appointment with one of us, or all of us. The important thing is that you feel like you can open up and be yourself, too.

Oh, and consultations are free with our doctor and our nutritionist too. Isn't that cool?

Flashback Friday!

Did you know that Ancora's first home was in the Weil Arcade?

We started with a single office, then continued to grow, eventually having three spaces for individual and group therapy.

The stairs and elevator were scary. It was very toasty in the summer (which led to doing admin work at Danu). A wonderful spot for my kids to watch the parade. And the first place Ancora's name was on a door.

We moved out just a few months before the devastating fire in January 2022. It will always be where Ancora got its start and it holds a special place in my heart.

It's hard to believe it's almost been 10 years since Ancora was made official with the State of Oregon. It's probably at least 12 years old if we're going by the picture that's existed in my head.

Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing memories from the past decade as we approach the big party on August 7th at 8 am!

Join us for a morning of networking and celebration, meet some of the Ancora staff, and toast to another 10 years of supporting Hillsboro's wellness.
