I remember when I first learned about prokinetics (back then, there was only like two available - oh god I just sounded SO old). I remember thinking "This mechanism makes a LOT of sense. I bet this will be helpful for my IBS and SIBO patients!" So, I excitedly sent a few people home with MotilPro...

Nothing. Nadda. Zilch. NONE of the people who went home with MotilPro thought it did a DAMN THING for them. One person was frankly annoyed that I encouraged them to spend the money on something that didn't work. Ugh.

So, I shrugged it off and kept working with IBS and SIBO without prokinetics.
But, something kept nagging me... whispering... pulling me back.

Around that time, we had some new products come on the market (Motility Activator, Megaguard, Prokine, SIBO MMC). And, of course, every company claimed that *ThEiR pRoDuCt wAs tHe BeeeeeSt.* I knew it was a bunch of marketing BS, but I also KNEW in my heart of hearts that this could help my people.

So, I threw my hands up in the air, said "screw it," and cracked open a bottle of each. I painstakingly put a one-week supply of each into little ziplock baggies, and sent a half a dozen patients home to try them out. "Let them tell me which one is best," I thought. Well, the joke was on me, because they all liked different products 🤣

Fast-forward 10 years, and I've been doing this "speed dating" process ever since. I was really hoping to have found a pattern in the data by now, but I haven't. To this day, I STILL can't tell you which one YOU will like. My only solution is to have you try a bunch of 'em until you find the one that works. The problem, of course, is that this can quickly become costly if you don't have access to the speed dating kits that I make.

I’ve seen this story a MILLION times.

They started with another functional doc or ND…
“Diagnosed” with SIBO…
“Treated” for SIBO… Again and again and again 😭

Eventually, the other practitioner refers this “tough case” to me… (Or the person got frustrated and left)

So, I request the records from the old office-
Chart notes, lab tests, food diaries, progress notes.

And I see that this poor person was given the same old “SIBO protocol”
The same impossible, miserable diet…
The same truckload of supplements…
The same RX antibiotics on repeat…

All the while, “tracking progress” with bogus breath testing 🙄🙄🙄

If that’s been your story up until now, I hope that this post teaches you that YOU are not the problem. YOU are not incurable or broken. YOU were only doing as you were told.

You were led on a wild goose chase
But that ends today 🛑
