We are excited to welcome Sarah McKay, OTD, OTR/L, CPRCS to our OT team in Huntsville and Madison! Here is a little about Sarah:

Sarah is a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist, specializing in pediatric OT services. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Bio-Psychology from McKendree University in Lebanon, IL, in 2018. She earned her occupational therapy doctoral degree at Huntington University in Fort Wayne, IN, in 2022. Sarah’s experience spans a wide variety of ages and diagnoses across the pediatric population, ranging from early intervention services (0-3 years) through young adults preparing for the transition to independent living. Within her pediatric experience, she’s worked with clients and their families to provide client-centered/family-based services supporting those facing challenges with torticollis, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, developmental delays, ASD, ADHD, and sensory processing disorder. In addition, Sarah is a Certified Primitive Reflex Clinical Specialist (CPRCS) and has experience addressing how retained primitive reflexes can significantly impact executive functioning, emotional regulation, fine and gross motor skills, and developmental milestone achievement. Sarah is passionate about providing child-led, strengths-based, and neuro-affirming care as guiding frameworks for individualized OT intervention. She strives to utilize each client’s interests, strengths, and abilities to support them in reaching their greatest potential.

Congratulations to Margaret McDonald who is now officially a Registered Play Therapist™! 🎉🎉🎉

This is hot off the press and we are so proud of Margaret for all her hard work and dedication over the last few years! Adding these additional 3 letters after her name was not an easy undertaking; it required years of giving up weekends for trainings, over 35 hours of additional supervision beyond what she received during her clinical licensure process and a minimum of 350 hours of play therapy-specific direct client contact. Congratulations Margaret on this incredible milestone! 🎉 🎉

Congratulations to Emily Tester for officially becoming a Registered Play Therapist ™! 🎉🎉🎉

The process to become an RPT is a years-long one, requiring significant continuing education hours and additional supervision hours post-licensure. A LOT of hard work, time, and resources went into this achievement, and we are so proud of you, Emily!

We are thrilled to reintroduce Chelsey Kincaid, OTR/L, following her maternity leave! We’ve loved celebrating the birth of her sweet baby boy and are excited to announce her return with a new title: Clinical Director of Occupational Therapy.

In this expanded role, Chelsey will continue to provide the exceptional clinical care her clients know and trust, while leading our growing OT team. Her leadership marks an exciting new chapter for Kaleidoscope as we continue to expand our services and uphold our core values. Welcome back, Chelsey! 🎉

Building a genuine, trusting relationship with our clients is always our foundational first step. Why? Because children learn and regulate through connection.

When we prioritize rapport, we create felt safety. For a child, safety isn’t just the absence of danger; it’s the presence of a predictable, attuned, and non-judgmental adult. When a child feels truly safe and seen, their nervous system shifts out of survival mode and into a state of social engagement.

That physiological shift is the secret sauce for progress. Once the body feels safe, the brain becomes receptive, emotional regulation improves, and the child knows they are safe to take the risks necessary for growth and learning.

Connection is the conduit through which all clinical progress flows. This is why we take the time to build the bridge! 💗
