Mary Ann Quivey, 65, passed away in her sleep surrounded by loved ones after a hard-fought battle with cancer on August 5, 2026. She was born in Tuscola, IL on September 1, 1960 to Joe and Theresa Martin of Arcola, IL. She graduated from Arcola High School and pursued a degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University. She went on to have a successful career as a Businesswoman and Educator.

Mary Ann was an adored wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, educator, and a friend to all of those around her. Anyone who was lucky enough to have met Mary Ann knew how vivacious, witty, creative, and fun she was. In her free time, she spent her time gardening, reading science fiction, and vacationing with her husband of 41 years, Jeff. She also enjoyed crafty projects like creating mosaics, wood burning, and painting. She was known for always laughing or making others laugh. Mary Ann had the wittiest sense of humor and the brightest smile.

She was preceded in death by Joseph Martin (Father), Theresa Martin (Mother), Randy Martin (Brother), Mindy Vanveldhuizen (Niece), Albert Quivey (Father in Law), and Mildred Quivey (Mother in Law). She is survived by Jeffrey Quivey (Husband in Conroe, TX), Mark Martin (Brother in Winona, MN), Jim Martin (Brother in San Jose, CA), Weston Quivey (Son in Boston, MA), Elise Quivey (Daughter in Chicago, IL), and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Annette R. Williams, 76, of Onalaska, Texas, passed away on August 28, 2026. Born in Harris County on July 31, 1950, Annette spent the last portion of her life, career, and retirement in the community she loved.

Annette will be remembered for her endearing and eccentric personality and her genuine willingness to love those around her. She had a great sense of humor, often brightening the day of those she met with a joke or funny remark.

She was preceded in death by her son, Norman Hunter; her parents, Norman B. and Francis Elizabeth Renfro; and her best friend, Morris Williams,

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1700 Normal Park Drive, Huntsville, TX 77340.

A celebration of Annette’s life will be held with a graveside service on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Magnolia Cemetery, located at 492 Magnolia Cemetery Rd, Onalaska, TX 77360 with Rev. Tim Ramsey officiating.

Charles Earl Buchanan, a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at the age of 76.

Charles was a devoted family man, a loving husband of nearly 49 years, and the steady heart of his family. His love and dedication to those closest to him were at the center of his life.

Charles was born on March 18, 1950, in Yonkers, New York, to his proud parents, Lincoln and Marie Buchanan. He proudly served in the United States Army before building a long career with Texaco, first in New York City and later in Houston, Texas.

As a child, Charles participated in the Boy Scouts, an experience that stayed with him throughout his life and eventually led him to serve as a Scoutmaster and Venture Crew leader. He also enjoyed bicycling, scuba diving, traveling, and watching Formula One racing.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Debra; his son, Alexander; his daughter, Victoria and her husband, Todd; his three cherished granddaughters, Kiley, Vivian, and Evelyn; his brother, Bill; his in-laws, Kevin and Maureen; and his niece, Krystle.

Charles will be remembered for his devotion to his family and the steady, loving presence he brought to their lives. His memory will continue to live on through the family he loved so deeply.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in remembrance of Charles Buchanan.

Thomas Avery McMillin, 88, of Montgomery, Texas, went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2026. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to family and community will be deeply missed.

Tom was born on July 22, 1938, in Abilene, Texas, to Ellis Avery McMillin and Vera Jarret. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1956 and Hardin-Simmons College in 1960 before enlisting in the United States Army.

A lifelong outdoorsman, Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman who possessed a natural spirit of teaching and mentorship. He was particularly passionate about firearm including high-powered rifle, s***t, and BB gun programs, primarily through 4-H. His dedication to teaching safety, responsibility, and respect for the outdoors touched generations of young people.

Thomas had a lifelong love of games, particularly bridge, dominoes, and cards. He was a patient and generous bridge instructor and an outstanding “42” player, sharing his knowledge, skill, and enjoyment of these games with family and friends.

Following four years of active military service, Tom worked at NEMCO in Abilene while continuing his military career in the Army Reserves. He ultimately retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel.

In 1991, Tom joined Bandag, where he continued his career until his retirement in 1998. He and his beloved wife, Mary Jane, then moved to Lake Whitney, where they lived full...
