It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Franklin Dale Hunter. He was born on August 28, 1946 in New Waverly, Texas to Robert and Margaret Lucille Alexander Hunter. Franklin was a proud Christian, husband, father, and God-fearing man who valued his family, church, and role as a Sunday School Superintendent. In 1968, he was drafted into the Vietnam War, where he served our country as a Lance Corporal and received several military honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, RVN Cross of Gallantry, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. On behalf of Cox Funeral Home, we send our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this time. 🕊️

Today, we remember and honor the life of Joyce Elaine Roundtree, who passed away at the age of 79. She was born September 3rd, 1946, to James “Bo” Roundtree, Sr. and Eliza (Smither) Roundtree in Huntsville, Texas. She was the youngest of six children. Mrs. Joyce was a caring mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and true matriarch of her family. She will always be remembered for being her children and grandchildren’s biggest fan, always showing up for their milestones and never missing a birthday or anniversary. Please continue to keep her family in your prayers during this time. 🕊️

Last weekend we had the privilege of receiving the ‘Diamond Donor’ Award in recognition of our support of The 30th Roxie Douglas Scholarship Foundation Banquet.

Although we were not able to attend the banquet in person this year, we were grateful to have Mrs. Monica Lee accept this special award on our behalf!

We’re proud to support students and help make their educational dreams possible. Congratulations to all of the recipients, and thank you to everyone who made this evening special!

Also, thank you to the Roxie Douglas Learning Institute for always supporting our youth, your work does not go unnoticed!
