Yesterday, CAPACares was on the Missouri State University campus to launch the Youth Mental Health Task Force with Youth Mental Health Corps and the ServMO team.

It was great to meet fellow task force members, talk about our goals, and picture a Missouri with more behavioral health specialists to support young people.

At CAPACares, we are proud and thankful to be longtime recipients of Jackson County COMBAT funds.

On Nov. 3, voters will decide whether to renew COMBAT. Here are the facts:

:: It's not a new tax. Renewing it will not change the sales tax rate in Jackson County.
:: It's a .25% sales tax. That's just 25 cents for every $100 spent.
:: Almost half is paid by people who don't live in Jackson County.
:: Over the last five years, $63 million has gone to prevention and treatment programs. That money pays for trauma care and mental health services, like the free counseling and family support we offer at CAPACares.

COMBAT is on the ballot Nov. 3. Make a plan to vote!
