PARENTS OF KIDS WHO PLAY VIDEO GAMES ONLINE ... TOMORROW -- JUNE 23rd from 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm -- FREE LIVE Webinar: Video Games and Your Child: Spotting Red Flags and Staying Safe Online. Register now!

In today's digital world, video games are a central part of many children's lives, but they also come with important safety considerations. This webinar is designed to help parents better understand the online gaming environment and recognize potential risks their children may encounter.

Key topics will include: dangers of interacting with strangers online, how age verification works (and where it can fall short), and how to ensure games are age-appropriate. Parents will learn how personal information can be unintentionally shared through screen names and in-game conversations, and why understanding the difference between private and public servers matters.

Additionally, you'll receive practical strategies for setting up parental controls, adjusting privacy settings, and establishing healthy time limits for gaming. By the end of the session, parents will feel more confident in supporting their children to enjoy gaming safely, responsibly, and with greater awareness.

Provided by the National Criminal Justice Training Center in partnership with the Center for Children.

We are so excited to share that our Ties & Tiaras Dance in support of the Center for Children is just around the corner, and we would love your help filling the room with families from our community. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite clients, family members, friends, community partners, churches, schools, and anyone who may enjoy a special evening with a little girl in their life while supporting the Center for Children.

This magical evening will take place on Friday, July 24th, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Wildewood Village Event Center and is open to girls ages 3–11 and the special men in their lives.

Hosted by Boothe's Heating, Air, Plumbing, Drains & Electrical on behalf of the Center for Children, the event will feature dancing, music, crowns and gloves for every princess, and refreshments available for purchase. Tickets are just $20 for adults and $5 for children, and all proceeds will benefit the Center for Children and the families we serve.

Please help us make this event a success by sharing this information with your family, friends, and community contacts. We are also still seeking donations of bottled water, juice boxes, soda, chips, cookies, and other individually packaged snacks.

If you would like to donate or volunteer, please email [email protected].

Every child deserves access to quality mental health care.

At the Center for Children, we provide therapy, crisis intervention, psychological evaluations, family support, and mental health services for more than 4,500 children and families every year across Southern Maryland.

For many families, barriers like cost, insurance, and long waitlists stand in the way of getting help. Your support helps make care possible for children struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and other mental health challenges.

The Center for Children works very hard to support children and families in our community. As a nonprofit organization that relies heavily on grants and community funding, our staff manages a high volume of requests while working diligently to connect families with the services that best match their needs.

You can help ensure no child goes without the support they need.

Your donation helps provide:
• Individual and family therapy
• School-based mental health support
• Crisis intervention services
• Resources and education for families

Together, we can help children heal, grow, and thrive. Donate today. 💚 https://www.networkforgood.org/donation/ExpressDonation.aspx?ORGID2=52-1631026&vlrStratCode=EOU8EkWDFxM5vBweT66UMLWbN5%2fwNZKJaSuODBL0XdblSUXa5sL9r9YsrA6FRfRu
