We are so excited to share that our Ties & Tiaras Dance in support of the Center for Children is just around the corner, and we would love your help filling the room with families from our community. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite clients, family members, friends, community partners, churches, schools, and anyone who may enjoy a special evening with a little girl in their life while supporting the Center for Children.

This magical evening will take place on Friday, July 24th, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Wildewood Village Event Center and is open to girls ages 3–11 and the special men in their lives.

Hosted by Boothe's Heating, Air, Plumbing, Drains & Electrical on behalf of the Center for Children, the event will feature dancing, music, crowns and gloves for every princess, and refreshments available for purchase. Tickets are just $20 for adults and $5 for children, and all proceeds will benefit the Center for Children and the families we serve.

Every child deserves access to quality mental health care.

At the Center for Children, we provide therapy, crisis intervention, psychological evaluations, family support, and mental health services for more than 4,500 children and families every year across Southern Maryland.

For many families, barriers like cost, insurance, and long waitlists stand in the way of getting help. Your support helps make care possible for children struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and other mental health challenges.

The Center for Children works very hard to support children and families in our community. As a nonprofit organization that relies heavily on grants and community funding, our staff manages a high volume of requests while working diligently to connect families with the services that best match their needs.

You can help ensure no child goes without the support they need.

Your donation helps provide:
• Individual and family therapy
• School-based mental health support
• Crisis intervention services
• Resources and education for families

Together, we can help children heal, grow, and thrive. Donate today. 💚 https://www.networkforgood.org/donation/ExpressDonation.aspx?ORGID2=52-1631026&vlrStratCode=EOU8EkWDFxM5vBweT66UMLWbN5%2fwNZKJaSuODBL0XdblSUXa5sL9r9YsrA6FRfRu

10 Ways to Prevent Child Abuse | #10: Monitor Your Child’s Media and Internet Usage

Children are influenced by what they watch, play, and experience online. Excessive exposure to violent television shows, movies, videos, and games can negatively affect young children and their emotional well-being.

Parents and caregivers can help by:
💙 Monitoring television and internet usage
💙 Setting healthy screen time limits
💙 Encouraging age-appropriate content
💙 Talking openly about online safety
💙 Spending time watching or playing together

Creating safe digital habits helps children grow in healthy, positive environments.

HOW TO REPORT SUSPECTED CHILD ABUSE
Anyone can report suspected child abuse or neglect. Reporting concerns can protect a child and help a family get support. It may even save a child’s life.

10 Ways to Prevent Child Abuse | #9 Promote Prevention Programs in Schools

Schools play an important role in helping children feel safe, supported, and empowered. Teaching prevention strategies to children, parents, and educators can help protect children and strengthen families.

Prevention programs can help:
💙 Teach children personal safety skills
💙 Encourage healthy communication
💙 Help adults recognize warning signs
💙 Build safe and supportive school environments
💙 Connect families with helpful resources

When schools, families, and communities work together, children are better protected and supported.
