Dementia is not one single diagnosis — there are several different types, and each one can look a little different.

In this video, I’m breaking down some of the most common types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, and more.

Understanding the differences can help families recognize changes earlier, ask better questions, and feel more prepared when navigating care for a loved one.

Our newest local Senior Living Advisor, Alaina Hines, has joined our team after more than eight years of experience in senior living. Alaina has had the privilege of serving in several roles that have given her a well-rounded understanding of the industry.

She is a certified Alzheimer’s and Dementia educator, which allows her to provide families with education and guidance throughout the placement process.

Alaina believes that choosing a senior living community is about much more than finding a place to live—it’s about finding a place to call home.
