With election day nearing, the DDRC Board of Directors have voted to endorse the following ballot initiatives:
Support: Amendment 87 – Graduated Income Tax
This measure primarily affects high-income earners, making over $500,000 annually. It is intended to help address the state's budget shortfall while generating additional revenue for intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) services, health care, education, and early childhood programs.
Oppose: Proposition 136
This measure negates the benefits of Amendment 87, resulting in continued budget pressures and potential cuts to essential state services. It would maintain the current flat income tax structure regardless of income level.
Support: Proposition NN
This measure increases the TABOR revenue cap, allowing the state to retain additional funding for K-12 education, early childhood programs, and property tax exemptions.
As you complete your ballot, we encourage you to consider these recommendations. These measures may impact the programs and services DDRC provides to our community.
