At Cox Barton, sometimes the best encouragement doesn't come from a doctor or a nurse. Sometimes it comes from a member of our Environmental Services team with a couple of mop heads and a whole lot of heart.

For more than 47 years, Sandy has helped keep our hospital clean and welcoming, caring for patients in ways that often happen behind the scenes. But recently, she found a different way to make a difference.

When a patient was working through a tough recovery, Sandy noticed he needed a little extra encouragement to keep pushing. So she grabbed a couple of clean mop heads, turned them into makeshift pom poms, and cheered the patient on to hit his milestones.

Thank you, Sandy, for going above and beyond to care for our patients. Your creativity and compassion remind us that every member of our hospital team plays an important role in helping patients heal.

Good health starts with having someone in your corner.

We're making it easier for more members of our community to establish care with a primary care provider at our Medical One Clinic. By seeing more patients each day, we're able to offer greater access to the care you need. Best of all, it's close to home.

Having a primary care provider means having someone who knows your health history, helps you stay on top of preventive care, manages chronic conditions, and is there when unexpected illnesses arise. It's a relationship that can make a real difference in your long-term health.

Whether you're due for an annual wellness visit, have a new health concern, or have been putting off finding a primary care provider, we're here for you.

Your health matters, and having a trusted primary care provider can make all the difference. Learn more about the benefits of establishing care by checking out our blog, linked in the comments.

Some gifts arrive in a box. Others arrive with a story.💙

Recently, our surgery team received a surprise package filled with beautiful scrub caps. Inside, there was a simple note tucked inside that read:

"In Memory of my Mother."

The package came from the daughter of a former Cox Barton co-worker who passed away several years ago. Through this thoughtful gift, she found a meaningful way to honor her mother's memory while supporting the team that continues to care for our surgical patients.

It's a testament to the lasting impact of a caring teammate. The compassion they shared, the lives they touched, and the legacy they leave behind continue to inspire others.

To the family who shared this beautiful gift, thank you. Your kindness will be worn with gratitude and serve as a daily reminder of a colleague who will always be part of our hospital family.

Before young athletes in Barton County ever step onto a field, court, or track this year, many of them got a helping hand from a familiar source: Cox Barton County Hospital and Medical One Clinic.

Through their annual free sports physical program, the two teamed up to provide nearly 500 physicals to student athletes this summer, clearing the way for kids across the county get cleared and ready to compete.

The physical examinations mandated by the majority of schools prior to student participation in sports include assessments of the heart, as well as evaluations of joints and muscles, ensuring that young athletes are approved to compete safely throughout the entire season.

A big thank you goes out to all the staff members who stepped up to help make these events possible. Their time and commitment to serving local families helped ensure young athletes had access to the care they needed.

For many Barton County families, the free events mean one less expense during a season already packed with cleats, uniforms, and equipment. Behind every athlete stepping onto the field is a team of people cheering them on, and this initiative is another way the hospital and clinic are helping local kids stay healthy and active.

A little sunshine, a lot of smiles, and a refreshing reminder to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Our Cox Barton County team recently took some time to celebrate summer with sweet watermelon and refreshing lemonade. While caring for others is at the heart of what we do, we know it’s just as important to take care of ourselves along the way.

Healthcare can be challenging, and the days can be busy. Moments like these give our team a chance to recharge and enjoy a little summer fun together.

Thank you to our incredible team for all you do!

CoxHealth's new brand campaign, Moments That Matter, has launched across various platforms, including video and digital advertising. The campaign captures the meaningful moments our patients experience across the communities we call home and the important role our teams play in caring for them.

As you see these ads, keep an eye out for recognizable locations in and around Lamar, including the historic square and Plaza Theatre. These familiar places help tell the story of the communities we are honored to serve.

At Cox Barton, we understand that life's most meaningful moments happen close to home. We're privileged to be there for those moments by providing compassionate, award-winning care for our friends, families and neighbors.

Got pop tabs? We want them! Cox Barton is running a collection drive now through July 31 for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Every tab collected will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of the Ozarks located in Springfield, a nonprofit that provides a home away from home for families with children receiving care at area hospitals, including St. Louis Children's Hospital at CoxHealth. For many of these families, having a place to stay close to their child means one less worry during an already difficult time.

Drop off your pop tabs at the hospital anytime between now and July 31. Thank you for making a difference, one tab at a time.

June in black and white, a month stitched together with moments worth remembering. From celebrations of technology and innovation to the quiet charm of a horse-drawn buggy rolling past the hospital, this month carried both progress and nostalgia in the same frame. A little history, a little future, plenty of coffee, and a lot of memories made along the way.

As we turn the page to July, we are looking forward to more stories, more moments, and everything the new month brings.
