John Knox Village residents celebrated in style at the first pool party of summer at the Daniel D. Rexroth Recreation Center, which opened earlier this year.

Designed to expand opportunities for healthy, active living, the center's new aquatic space features a swim lane, zero-entry access and nearly 5,000 square feet of deck space. It made for a perfect island-themed backdrop.

Tropical treats, the signature Blue Hawaii drink and some Elvis Presley tunes kept things festive as residents relaxed poolside and soaked up the beautiful weather. A fitting start to summer! ☀️

The World Cup is coming to Kansas City — and John Knox Village got a head start on the celebration! ⚽

We were honored to welcome former Sporting Kansas City captain and U.S. Men's National Team member Matt Besler for a special presentation on his journey to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

From his early days with a soccer ball to representing his country on the world's biggest stage, Matt's story was one of passion, perseverance, and a whole lot of heart.

Residents, grandkids and other community members lined up for autographs and photos after the talk, and the line of smiling faces said it all.
