Caritas Care Solutions and our Open Doors Counseling Center is proud to welcome Roger Smith, LCSW-S, a seasoned behavioral health professional with nearly 25 years of direct experience in psychiatry and mental health care. Roger joins our team following a distinguished career with Appalachian Regional Hospital in Hazard, where he served in a leadership role overseeing psychiatric services and helping shape compassionate, effective care delivery across the region.
A native of the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, Roger brings not only clinical expertise but also a deep, personal understanding of the communities we serve. His work has long been grounded in the belief that access to quality behavioral health care is essential—especially for individuals and families in marginalized and underserved populations. He recognizes the unique challenges faced by those with limited access to care and is committed to meeting people where they are, both culturally and geographically.
Roger is now accepting new clients for therapy as well as comprehensive mental health assessments, including evaluations for diagnosis and program eligibility. He offers services through convenient Telehealth options, expanding access for individuals who may otherwise face barriers to receiving care.
