🤎 Sunday on the Porch
The porch has a funny way of slowing time down, ya know?

Conversations last a little longer.

Coffee gets a little cool because no one's in a hurry.

The horses drift across the pasture, and before you know it, the sun is setting on another week.🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for spending a little piece of yours with us.

🌻 Slow Living Saturday

The Things That Can Wait

There was a time when I'd have felt guilty for sitting on the porch while there were still chores to do.

Now I know better.

The weeds will still be there tomorrow.

The laundry can wait another hour.

But this breeze...
This cup of coffee...
The sound of horses grazing just beyond the fence...
Those moments don't wait.

So this morning, I'm choosing to stay a little longer.

Official Homestead Meeting Minutes 😂 Barnyard Bulletin

This morning's staff meeting covered the following:
🐴 Baby requested more snacks.
🐴 Daisy reminded everyone she's still in charge.
🐔 The chickens filed another formal complaint that breakfast was five minutes late.
🦆 The ducks approved every puddle they've inspected.
🐕 River Monster insists he deserves a raise for "security services."

Overall morale remains high... mostly because no one knows they're unpaid.

🐴 Wednesday — Lessons from the Barn

Some of the best lessons I've ever learned didn't come from a classroom.

They came from a horse that asked me to slow down.
From a chicken that reminded me to laugh.
From mornings that didn't go according to plan.
From showing up anyway.

The barn has a funny way of teaching patience, consistency, and grace—usually when I need it most.

If you’re new…

We’re really glad you found us.

Around here you’ll find horses, chickens, ducks, fresh eggs, a golden retriever who answers to River Monster, three most soft dog snouts, one black cat that things he owns the house, and more sunsets than we could ever count.

But more than anything…

I hope this little corner of the interwebs feels like a place you can slow down for a minute.

🌻 Slow Living Saturday

I used to think a productive day had to be a busy one.

The homestead keeps reminding me that sometimes a good day looks like dirty boots, fresh eggs, a horse asking for scratches, and dinner on the porch.

Maybe that’s enough.

There are sunsets that make you stop what you’re doing.

Not because the chores are finished…

🤎 From the Porch

Home isn’t always a place.

Sometimes it’s a feeling.

It’s horses grazing in the distance.

A dog following you from chore to chore.

The sound of chickens fussing over nothing at all.

The last bit of sunlight stretching across the pasture.

I’m grateful we get to share a little of that feeling with you each week.
