🎉📚✨ BIG NEWS! ✨📚🎉

I am beyond excited to share that Granny the Sheriff is heading to the bookstore!

On Wednesday, June 10th at 10:00 AM, I will be participating in Little Lantern Storytime, where I’ll be reading Granny the Sheriff to the children, signing books, and bringing copies of the Granny the Sheriff Journals as well.

Even more exciting—Granny the Sheriff is available for purchase in the bookstore! Seeing this book move from a dream, to a manuscript, to a bookstore shelf is a moment I’ll never forget.

💛 A very special thank you to my daughter, Oni Heard, who coordinated this entire opportunity. Her support, encouragement, and hard work helped make this happen. As a mother, there is something incredibly special about watching your children believe in your dreams and help bring them to life. I am so grateful for her and proud of the amazing woman she is.

As a therapist, author, and founder of Repairing the Bridge, my mission has always been to create tools, stories, and experiences that help children build confidence, character, emotional awareness, and healthy decision-making skills. Being able to share Granny the Sheriff with young readers in a bookstore setting is truly an honor.

Your nervous system may still be reacting to battles your heart already survived.

If you’ve ever wondered why you stay tense, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or constantly “on guard” even when life finally gets quiet… this blog is for you.

I wrote about trauma, survival mode, somatic healing, the vagus nerve, and why healing isn’t just mental, it’s physical too.

Sometimes the body needs help learning what safety feels like.

Some of the struggles people face in adulthood did not begin in adulthood.

Many began in childhood in environments where safety, emotional support, stability, or healthy connection were missing long before anyone noticed the impact.

The first 5 years of life matter more than most people realize.
That’s why prevention matters.
Supporting mothers matters.
Parenting education matters.
Mental health matters.
Teaching emotional regulation and healthy relationships early matters.

Children deserve more than crisis response after the damage is already done. They deserve support before the breaking point.

Stronger families create stronger communities.
And stronger communities create safer futures for all of us.

If this message speaks to you, follow Repairing The Bridge Behavioral Health Services for more conversations centered around healing, prevention, emotional wellness, and building stronger futures together.

Journaling is more than writing.
It’s a place to process, release, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

What she says in this video is powerful because healing often begins when we finally put words to what we’ve been carrying.

You don’t have to have the perfect words to start healing.
You just have to start.

You don’t have to cross alone.

Sometimes healing looks like therapy.
Sometimes it looks like a long Saturday drive with the windows down and a song that reminds you you’ve survived every version of yourself so far.

Music can regulate us.
It can comfort us.
It can help us process emotions words can’t always explain.

But let’s be honest — music can also be a trigger, especially in recovery. Certain songs can pull us back into old memories, old pain, old habits, or old versions of ourselves we fought hard to leave behind.

That’s why healing also means learning awareness.
Learning what feeds your peace and what disrupts it.

Today, the music reminded me of good times, growth, gratitude, and being present in the moment. So I turned it up.

You don’t have to cross alone.

This is more than a journal to me.
This is one of the most meaningful pieces of work I’ve ever created.

The 30-Day Alignment Journal for Women Who Overgive was built for the women who carry everything, show up for everyone, and slowly disappear from themselves in the process.

As you flip through these pages, you’ll see reflections on boundaries, emotional overwhelm, self-worth, healing, nervous system regulation, and learning how to come back to yourself without guilt.

This journal wasn’t created from theory alone.
It was created from lived experience, healing, clinical work, and heart.

You don’t have to cross alone.

You’ve been everything for everyone else.

Holding it together.
Showing up.
Carrying what needed to be carried…
even when it wasn’t yours.

And somewhere in that…
you started losing yourself.

These last few days weren’t random.
They were a reflection.

Of what you’ve been feeling.
Of what you’ve been carrying.
Of what you’re ready to release.

So I created something for you.

The 30-Day Alignment Journal for Women Who Overgive
isn’t just a journal…

It’s your space to:
– release emotional overwhelm
– set boundaries without guilt
– reconnect with your voice and your needs
– and build a life that finally includes you

This is more than a journal.
This is your reset.

If you’ve seen yourself in these posts…
this was created for you.

Start choosing yourself.
