Dr Eric Thomas was a highly valued retinal specialist whose expertise, compassion, and dedication touched the lives of countless patients. He will be deeply missed.
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our friend, colleague, and partner, Dr. Eric Thomas.
For 19 years, Dr. Thomas was an integral part of the Ophthalmology LTD family, dedicating his career to helping patients preserve and restore their vision. As a fellowship-trained retinal specialist, he brought advanced surgical expertise to the treatment of retinal and vitreous diseases, pairing exceptional skill with genuine compassion. His calm presence, thoughtful guidance, and unwavering commitment to his patients made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered not only as an exceptional retina surgeon, but also as a devoted family man, loyal friend, and compassionate leader in our community.
Beyond the walls of our practice, Dr. Thomas was deeply invested in our community. As co-founder of Sioux Falls City Football Club, he helped create opportunities that continue to empower women and girls through soccer. His legacy extends far beyond medicine, touching countless lives through his generosity, leadership, and dedication to others.
In lieu of flowers, Dr. Thomas' family asks that donations be made to the Sioux Falls City FC Foundation to support and uplift women in their soccer journey, honoring the legacy he worked so passionately to build.
