Yesterday marked the last day of an incredible team member. 💐

It’s Graduation Season! 🎓🎉

Three of our clients graduated from our EL center this past Friday and transferred to our SAP center! 🎓 It’s a bittersweet moment for our EL team, but we are so incredibly proud of each of them for reaching such an important milestone and for all the growth they’ve achieved. We are also deeply grateful to their families for their unwavering support throughout this process.

There were definitely some happy tears shed on Friday! We feel so lucky to have been part of their journey, and we can’t wait to see them thrive as they begin this next chapter at SAP! 🥹🫶🏼

If you're an autism parent, you've heard some version of these. Maybe from strangers. Maybe from family. Maybe from people who were supposed to be in your corner. 💔

Stigma doesn't always look like cruelty. Sometimes it's a sigh in the grocery store line. A look when your child stims in public. A relative who still says "normal" like it's something your child should be working toward.

And the hardest part? It doesn't just affect you — it teaches your child, from a very young age, that who they are needs to be hidden, fixed, or apologized for.

Here's what we want every parent to hear today: your child does not need to be "normal." Your child needs to be supported, understood, and celebrated for exactly who they are. 🎯

The best therapy doesn't feel like therapy — it feels like finally being met where you are, without judgment.

You are not alone in this. We see you. We see your child. And we think they're pretty amazing. 💙

For a lot of families, getting an autism diagnosis feels like finally having an answer. 💙 But for many, that answer is only part of the picture.

Autism frequently co-occurs with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other conditions — and when one piece is identified while the others are missed, the effects can be profound.

Here is what the research shows: (statistics from autism speaks)

🧩 Between 20% and 50% of autistic individuals also have ADHD — yet many are diagnosed with one while the other goes unrecognized for years.
🧩 Shared traits like difficulty with focus, emotional regulation, and social interaction can look similar in both conditions, making them hard to tell apart.
🧩 "Diagnostic overshadowing" happens when a clinician identifies one condition and attention shifts away from the other.
🧩 Masking — when someone learns to camouflage their traits to fit in — can make co-occurring conditions even harder to spot, and is linked to increased anxiety and depression.
🧩 The majority of autistic people experience co-occurring mental health conditions, yet a lack of providers trained in autism can make diagnosis and treatment difficult.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we want every family to know: if something still feels unexplained after a diagnosis, you are not imagining it. It is worth asking more questions.
