Did you know you don’t have to make a huge gift to be part of something meaningful?

Generosity isn’t measured only by the size of a gift.

It’s choosing to use what you have to care for someone else.

And when neighbors across our community make that choice together, those individual acts of generosity add up to something much bigger.

At CommonGood Medical, your generosity helps make compassionate, whole-person healthcare available to our uninsured neighbors right here in Collin County.

It helps make possible the kind of care where a neighbor has time to talk. Time to ask questions. Time to be heard.

Care that sees the whole person and treats every neighbor with dignity.

And here’s what we hope you’ll remember:

Your gift doesn’t have to look like someone else’s gift to matter.

When each of us gives what’s meaningful to us, together we can do something meaningful for our community.

❤️ Early Giving for North Texas Giving Day is open now.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 to help sustain and expand the compassionate care happening every day at CommonGood Medical.

Give an amount that’s meaningful to you, and join neighbors across our community who are choosing to care for one another.

Did you know CommonGood Medical provides more than primary care?

We believe caring for our neighbors means caring for the whole person.

That starts with medical care, including preventive care, sick visits, and chronic disease management. But it also includes counseling and mental health care, vision care, labs, help accessing medications, and connections to specialists and other community resources through the CommonGood Network.

And last year, that care reached more of our community.

In 2025, more than 1,000 neighbors received care through nearly 5,700 patient encounters.

But numbers only tell part of the story.

On average, we see the neighbors we serve about four times a year. And an average first appointment lasts about 40 minutes.

Why?

Because we want our neighbors to have time.

Time to talk.
Time to ask questions.
Time to be heard.

We want every person who walks through our doors to feel like they belong here. To know they are heard. To know they are fully seen.

That’s what whole-person care means to us.

And while we’re grateful that more people are getting access to care, there is still so much more work to be done.

Early Giving for North Texas Giving Day is officially open, and you can be part of that work.

Your generosity helps sustain compassionate, whole-person healthcare for our uninsured neighbors right here in Collin County.

Did you know there’s a healthcare gap right here in Collin County?

It’s called the Medicaid gap.

There are neighbors in our community who face a gap when it comes to accessing affordable healthcare.

And when we talk about our uninsured neighbors, we’re talking about people with families, jobs, friendships, responsibilities, hopes, and stories all their own.

The average neighbor we serve is a working mom with two jobs, a working spouse, and two kids.

They earn too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to afford health insurance.

For families already balancing groceries, housing, childcare, transportation, and other everyday expenses, that can create incredibly difficult choices. Simply put, the cost of health insurance can mean choosing between coverage and putting food on the table.

That’s the gap we’re talking about.

And that’s where CommonGood Medical comes alongside our community. We help build a bridge to accessible healthcare by providing quality, compassionate healthcare and resources for our uninsured neighbors.

And TODAY, there’s a way you can be part of that mission.

We’re grateful to KERA News for taking the time to share the story of CommonGood Medical and shine a light on an important reality in our community: too many of our Collin County neighbors are living without health insurance and have few places to turn for care. 💙

As CommonGood Medical continues to grow, our mission remains the same: to share the love of Christ by partnering with our community to provide quality, compassionate healthcare and resources to our medically underserved neighbors.

Thank you to the KERA News team for helping bring greater awareness to this need and for sharing how our community is coming together to help more neighbors access the care they deserve.

Did you know more than 140,000 of our neighbors in Collin County are uninsured?

They’re part of the families, workplaces, churches, schools, and communities that make Collin County home.

And over the next few weeks, we’re inviting you to learn a little more about healthcare right here in our community.

We’ll share things you may not know about the need.

Things you may not know about CommonGood Medical.

And things you may not know about what can happen when neighbors choose to care for one another.

Because caring for our community begins with knowing our community.

And as we get started, there are two important dates to save:

Early Giving for North Texas Giving Day begins this Thursday, August 27th.

North Texas Giving Day is Thursday, September 17th.

🎉 Congratulations, Dr. Julia Wiener! 📚🍕

Today, we’re excited to celebrate one of our very own CommonGood Medical Board members, Dr. Julia Wiener, on the launch of her new book, Pizza Parties Don’t Build Culture: How Leaders Build Loyal Teams, Improve Performance, and Keep Their Best People.

Dr. Wiener’s work challenges leaders to think beyond the surface-level perks of workplace culture and focus on what truly builds strong, healthy, and lasting teams.

At CommonGood Medical, we are especially grateful to have Dr. Wiener serving on our Board. She brings her leadership, experience, and passion for building strong organizations to our mission, and we are better because of the time and wisdom she invests in CommonGood. 💙

Dr. Wiener, congratulations on this incredible accomplishment! Thank you for the ways you continue to invest in leaders, organizations, and in the work happening right here at CommonGood Medical.

📖 Pizza Parties Don’t Build Culture is officially available now. If you’re a leader, business owner, nonprofit professional, or simply someone who wants to help build a healthier team culture, go check it out!

🍕 And apparently, we may need to rethink our next staff pizza party. 😉

Congratulations, ! We’re thankful to have you as part of the CommonGood family.

✨ Volunteer Spotlight: Nicole Ordonez ✨

This month, we’re excited to recognize Nicole Ordonez, who served as our summer Development Intern! Nicole joined CommonGood Medical through our partnership with Aeyl Way, and it was such a joy to have her as part of the CommonGood family this summer.

Throughout her internship, Nicole jumped in wherever she was needed. She helped create social media content, supported our events, assisted with CommonGood Thrift, and even helped our team during the move into our new clinic space! It was especially exciting to watch Nicole grow in confidence, come out of her shell, and discover new ways to use her talents to serve others.

We asked Nicole a few questions about her internship experience:

💙 What’s one thing you learned about CommonGood Medical during your internship that you’ll carry with you?
“One thing I learned about CommonGood Medical during my internship that I’ll carry with me is seeing how the team works together to serve the community.”

🌞 When you’re not at CommonGood, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
“When I’m not at CommonGood, I enjoy spending time with my family.”

🌱 How did this internship shape your future goals?
“This internship gave me a better understanding of how marketing can make a positive impact on an organization and its community.”

Nicole came to us through AEYL’s youth mentorship program, which helps equip and encourage young people through leadership development, mentorship, and meaningful opportunities to gain real world experience. CommonGood Medical also had the privilege of attending the AEYL ceremony, where we were recognized as a business host. We are so thankful to Aeyl Way for investing in students like Nicole and for trusting CommonGood to be part of that journey.

Nicole, you were such a blessing to our team this summer! We hope you have an amazing senior year of high school and take a little piece of CommonGood with you wherever you go. We’re cheering you on as you pursue your future career, and we hope this isn’t goodbye, but simply “see you soon!” 💙

🏓💚 What a night to remember!

Our 2026 Pickleball for a Cause was filled with friendly competition, plenty of laughs, and most importantly, a community coming together for a greater purpose.

To everyone who grabbed a paddle, cheered from the sidelines, brought your family and friends, or simply came out to spend the evening with us, thank you! You helped make this year's event so special.

One of our favorite parts of the night was seeing so many new faces. To those who walked in having never heard of CommonGood Medical before, welcome! We're so glad you joined us, and we hope this is just the beginning of your connection with the CommonGood community.

And to those who joined us last year and came back for another round this year, welcome back! Seeing familiar faces return means more than you know. ❤️

We also want to give a huge thank you to our incredible sponsors:

👕 T-Shirt Sponsor: Roofing Solutions DFW
🏓 Court Sponsor: Chloe Mae Studios
🏆 Paddle Sponsor: USM Technology
🥉 Bronze Sponsors: RBFCU & Bojangles

Your generosity and partnership helped turn an evening of pickleball into an opportunity to bring people together around the mission of CommonGood Medical. We are incredibly grateful for each of you.

And a HUGE shoutout to Chicken N Pickle - Allen for once again opening your doors and giving our community a place to gather, compete, laugh, eat, and play with purpose. Thank you for helping us make another Pickleball for a Cause one to remember!

To everyone who made this night possible, thank you for showing up for the Common Good. We couldn't have done it without you.

Until next time... we'll see you on the court! 🏓💚
