Please join us in welcoming Charlene Latimer, BSN, RN, to the MiCare Path team as our newest Care Coach!

Charlene brings 29 years of nursing experience to , including more than 20 years in the NICU, plus experience in psychiatric nursing, health coaching, and aesthetics. She earned her BSN from Union University and brings a wealth of clinical knowledge, compassion, and a genuine passion for helping people to our care team.

Charlene loves spending time with her family and is a proud mom of four adult children. She says there’s nothing quite like being part of a big family. When she’s not surrounded by family, you’ll find her enjoying the sunshine and spending time with her sweet dogs.

We’re thrilled to have Charlene joining us and can’t wait to see the difference she’ll make for our patients and clinician partners.

Help us welcome Ethan Burns and Jordan Smith to MiCare Path!

Ethan and Jordan are joining us from the University of Memphis School of Health Sciences for the fall semester, and we’re excited to have them on the team. Over the next few months, they’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at "health digital" and the work that goes into supporting patients beyond the office visit.

They’ll learn to troubleshoot connected devices, organize and manage inventory, encourage patient compliance, and, perhaps most importantly, dive into our ever-present pursuit of improving the patient journey and experience.

And now for the really big news…for the first time since ’s inception, the fellas outnumber the ladies in the office. The dynamic has officially shifted. Enjoy it while you can, Memphis guys! The women of MiCare Path still outnumber the men by about 3 to 1.

We’re excited to welcome Amber Kirk, LPN, to the MiCare Path team as our newest Care Coach. With more than 11 years of nursing experience, Amber brings a diverse clinical background to our Care Team. At Baptist Memorial Health Care, she worked alongside 12 physicians as a phone-triage and prior-authorization nurse. She also has experience supporting patients with psychosis and developmental disabilities, as well as caring for patients across geriatrics, pediatrics, and medical-surgical settings.

Amber’s passion for connecting with patients and her broad clinical experience will be a great addition to our Care Team as we continue building meaningful relationships with patients beyond the office visit.

Outside of work, Amber enjoys cooking, traveling, spending time with her family, and working on her family farm.

This summer, MiCare Path was honored to partner with The University of Memphis Crews Center for Entrepreneurship as mentors in the ImagineU program.

Scott Laster and Monte Clair Greer had the privilege of working with Victor Adewale as he developed NexusAI, an innovative platform focused on financial education for those interested in the cryptocurrency space, with plans to expand into investments in the future.

We were incredibly proud to watch Victor present his business during ImagineU Demo Day on Friday, July 24. Seeing him confidently share his vision in front of a packed audience of business leaders, investors, mentors, and fellow entrepreneurs was a testament to the hard work he put in throughout the summer.

A special thank you to Whitney Hardy, David Rose II, and the entire Crews Center team for creating such an outstanding program and Demo Day experience. We have learned so much through this partnership and are excited to continue working with the Crews Center this fall.

Virtual care remains at the forefront of healthcare's future. While CMS has released proposed changes to Medicare's Remote Patient Monitoring and Remote Therapeutic Monitoring programs that stand in stark contrast to what other federal agencies (U.S. Congress) have been progressing, it is important to remember that these are proposals only. Nothing changes today, and little may change ultimately.

At , our commitment remains unchanged. We will continue supporting our clinician partners, protecting patient access, and delivering high-quality virtual care that helps patients stay connected between office visits.

We support thoughtful program integrity and strong clinical oversight. At the same time, we believe every patient deserves access to proven remote care, regardless of whether their physician practice has the internal resources to build and manage these programs. For many healthcare organizations, trusted, 3rd party clinical partners make that care possible, ensuring patients continue to receive the ongoing support they need.

As the public comment period continues, we remain optimistic that CMS will recognize the importance of preserving patient access while strengthening quality.

Osteoporosis and bone health require proactive, connected care to help prevent the first life-altering fragility fracture.

At MiCare Path, we are passionate about supporting both clinicians and patients throughout that journey. We are proud to partner with Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics' Bone Health Program to extend care beyond the office visit through our virtual care services. Together, we support patients with osteoporosis education, exercise recommendations, fall risk identification, regular check-ins, and medication and supplement adherence.

Together with Dr. Christopher Cosgrove and the team, we look forward to helping patients build "strong bones, healthy habits at home, and a lifestyle that's meaningful and not cut short or derailed by having a fracture."

Behind every MiCare Path blood pressure reading is a Care Coordinator who truly cares about extending care beyond the office visit.

One of our patients recently shared that Olivia Keffeler is always quick to check in with her mother whenever a blood pressure reading is outside the normal range. Knowing someone is paying close attention and reaching out when it matters brings peace of mind to both patients and their families.
