Friday = VaxFacts!

💉This week, the last week of National Immunization Awareness Month, we highlight the importance of pertussis immunizations for family members and friends to protect infants from whooping cough.

👶🏼 Babies can’t receive their dose of DTap until they’re at least 2 months old. This time unprotected leaves them vulnerable to pertussis infections that can be life threatening.

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 To keep newborns safe, parents, grandparents and other close contacts should receive appropriate pertussis boosters.

👩🏻‍⚕️Thank you to Petrea Cober for sharing how her experiences in practice impacted immunization decisions for her and her family.

🚨This Friday’s VaxFacts is an important announcement from our the PPA President, Kim Novak, and the PPA President and the Immunization Committee.🚨

📃The recently released executive order (EO) by the White House on Childhood Vaccine Recommendations does not align with PPA’s core values in public health.

💉The evidence on vaccines remains safe and effective.

💡PPA members can take action by continuing to engage with patients, families/caregivers, and the community regarding immunizations.
