🗓️Augmentation Progression and what to expect from surgery to your final result.✔️
Your results immediately after surgery are not your final result. Breast augmentation recovery is a gradual process, and your appearance can continue changing for several months.
WEEK 1️⃣ | High, tight & swollen
It’s common for the breasts to look swollen, firm, and sit higher on the chest than expected. The implants may look “high riding,” and one breast may settle differently or faster than the other. Bruising, pressure, and tightness can also occur.
WEEKS 2️⃣–3️⃣ | Swelling begins to improve
Swelling typically starts decreasing, but the implants may still look high or feel firm. The breasts can temporarily appear fuller in the upper portion or have a shape that doesn’t yet look natural. Some asymmetry during healing can be expected.
WEEKS 4️⃣–6️⃣ | Settling & softening
As swelling continues to decrease and the tissues relax, the implants generally begin settling into a more natural position. The lower portion of the breast gradually fills out, and the breasts may begin to look and feel softer.
MONTHS 2️⃣–3️⃣ | More natural shape
The implants continue to settle as the surrounding tissues adapt. Breast shape, position, and softness become more refined, although subtle changes may still be happening.
MONTHS 3️⃣–6️⃣ | FINAL RESULTS ✨
For many patients, the 3–6 month range is when the result is considered more representative of the final outcome. Most swelling has resolved, the implants have had time to settle, and the breasts typically feel softer and look more natural.
Scars will continue to mature and fade beyond this point and may continue changing for a year or longer.
The takeaway: Don’t judge your results too early. High implants, swelling, firmness, and temporary asymmetry can all be part of the early healing process.
Beautiful results take time.✨
