Please join us in welcoming the newest addition to our growing Capitol Pediatrics family, nurse practitioner, Kathy Metrick.

Kathy was born and raised in southeastern North Carolina, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University. Upon graduating, Kathy commissioned as a Nurse Corps Officer in the United States Navy, where she developed a passion for pediatrics, caring for the children of our nation's military heroes. Kathy obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University and is honored to be certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. A mother of three, Kathy strives to provide every patient with the same exemplary care experience she would want for her own children. She delights in helping new parents navigate newborn health, as well as helping children of all ages achieve a happy, healthy life. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys traveling with her husband and their daughters, walking her black lab, Sailor, and calling Richmond home. Kathy is looking forward to working with our Capitol Pediatrics patients and families.

Meet Dr. Snowden!

Dr. Gray Snowden grew up in Jacksonville, FL before attending Duke University and graduating in 1983 with a BS in Psychology. He then earned his medical degree in 1990 from Vanderbilt University in Nashville and went on to complete his pediatric residency at Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta in 1993. After brief stints on the Egleston faculty and with a private practice outside of Atlanta, he moved to Richmond and joined Capitol Pediatrics. Dr. Snowden is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is the current Chief of Pediatrics at CJW Medical Center. Dr. Snowden enjoys baseball, baseball cards, Duke basketball, and being around children of all ages. Included in his medical special interests are removal of foreign bodies and laceration repairs.

Meet Jasmine!

Jasmine graduated from VCU with a bachelors degree in biology and, for a time, owned her own medical supply company. She decided to pursue a degree in nursing after caring for her father, who had been diagnosed with cancer. For nearly six years she worked as the nurse manager at a pediatric practice in Richmond. Jasmine graduated from Old Dominion University with a masters degree as a pediatric nurse practitioner in 2022, joining Capitol Pediatrics in 2024. Jasmine strives to be an active listener with patients and their families and feels that it is an honor to care for children and get to know their families through the years. Her interest include well-child check-ups and mental health. Jasmine grew up in Miami and loves all things having to do with water. In her spare time, she loves paddle boarding on the James, spending time with her husband and two daughters (who keep her on her toes), as well as traveling and experiencing new cultures and foods.

Meet Michelle!

Michelle graduated from CNU with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Childhood Studies. She always knew she wanted to work in the medical field caring for pediatric patients. She then went on to earn her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from The George Washington University. She worked as a pediatric nurse at UVA Children’s Hospital as well as St. Mary’s Hospital. Michelle then earned her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and has been working as a nurse practitioner in the Richmond area for the last 5 years. Michelle grew up in Midlothian, Virginia and is looking forward to working with and getting to know the families of Capitol Pediatrics. She loves watching her patients grow and develop over time and educating her patients and their families. Her interests include newborn care and mental health. She loves exploring the Richmond area with her husband, their two daughters and their dog, Roo. Michelle is a big “foodie” and loves trying new, local restaurants. She also loves to travel. Her favorite places she has traveled so far are Paris and Barcelona.

Introducing Dr. Przybylo.

Dr. Alexandra Przybylo was born and raised near Albany, New York. She attended Providence College and graduated with a BS in Biochemistry in 2012. She went on to receive her MS in Bioethics from Union Graduate College (now Clarkson University Capital Region Campus) in 2013. She attended Albany Medical College where she received her medical degree in 2017. Dr. Przybylo completed her Pediatrics Residency at VCU in June 2020 and joined Capitol Pediatrics that Fall. Her practice interests include well child care, preventive care, and mental health care. Dr. Przybylo enjoys spending time with her husband, her three children, and their menagerie of pets including a llama named Finn and a horse named Flash.

**WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT**

Meet Brooke Saunders CPNP. Brooke was raised in Poquoson, Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Liberty University and then moved to Los Angeles working as a pediatric nurse at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from UCLA and returned home to Virginia when she joined Capitol Pediatrics in the summer of 2021. Brooke’s passion to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is to see her patients grow from newborn to adulthood while providing quality medical care and guidance along the way. In addition, Brooke is a certified lactation consultant and is passionate about empowering mothers on their breastfeeding journeys. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and their two Italian greyhounds.

If you have not met our providers we would like to highlight one for you each week. Dr. Konye Allen was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She graduated from Queen’s University with a BS in Life Sciences in 2003, and moved to the United States. She attended Howard University College of Medicine where she received her medical degree in 2007. Dr. Allen completed her Pediatrics Residency at VCU in 2010 before joining Capitol Pediatrics later that summer. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics and some of her practice interests include well child care from birth to early adulthood, asthma, obesity, and endocrinology. She has a passion for teaching and educating children and their families to better understand their health concerns and appropriately manage them. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and working out.
