🦋Somatic work for fear, visibility & self-trust

One of the biggest misconceptions about this work and nervous system regulation is that it’s about becoming calmer.

While yes, you can absolutely experience that, it’s also about becoming more honest.

Honest about what you’re feeling, about what isn’t working, about where you’re abandoning yourself to keep other people comfortable.

What made me so proud about this particular client wasn’t just that she set a boundary, but that she trusted herself enough to listen when something felt off instead of immediately talking herself out of it.

Because when you’ve spent years overriding your own needs, speaking up can feel uncomfortable, selfish, or even wrong. But the more connected you become to yourself, the harder it becomes to ignore your own needs.

Also celebrating that she just joined The Gap, my 3-month somatic coaching container, and I’m so excited to see her come home to herself even more inside of it.

If you’ve been curious about somatic work, I’m hosting a virtual donation-based community breathwork session this Thursday evening.

This is for you if you’re feeling overwhelmed, tired of living in your head, constantly overthinking, second-guessing yourself, or knowing exactly what you need but struggling to actually follow through on it.

It’s an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and experience what becomes possible when you stop trying to think your way through everything and start listening to your body instead.

I don’t share this for pity. I share this because this is a very real experience many of us, especially women, experience.

I share this because I think more of us need to start questioning the standards we’re measuring ourselves again, myself included.

We’re constantly in battle with these expectations, with our internal critic who is always telling us we aren’t enough. We don’t know enough, we don’t do enough, we’re not good enough. We’re always trying to do it all and it’s exhausting.

But what if the exhaustion isn’t coming from where we’re at or what we’re not doing, but from constantly trying to live up to expectations we never consciously agreed to in the first place?

Introducing our first ever donation-based virtual community breathwork session!

I’m really excited to be offering this event this month. I truly believe in this work and I want as many people to be able to experience it as possible.

If you’ve been curious about breathwork and want to see what it’s all about, while also being supported by community (but from the comfort of your own home) this is perfect for you!

Here’s to another month of connecting in community 🤩

It’s really easy to point out all the things we don’t like about ourselves (hello inner critic) but it’s a lot harder to reframe those into something positive, acknowledging that they existed for a reason.

Initially, I wanted to say there was nothing positive about constantly learning so I didn’t need to take action.

But when reflecting deeper, it protected me at a time where I maybe wasn’t ready to show up imperfectly.

I was just coming out of one of the hardest seasons in my life/business and I wasn’t ready to be seen failing. It helped me feel like I was being productive & successful and at that time, that’s exactly what I needed.

Overtime as my confidence grew and I became ready for more, I noticed where it went from helping to hurting.

I was finally ready to take action, but the pattern wasn’t evolving with me and was now keeping me stuck.

That doesn’t make the pattern bad, it just means I was growing out of needing it and ready for a change.

Next time you’re getting frustrated with the patterns you keep repeating, I want you to take a pause.

Reflect on all the ways this pattern has helped or protected you, and give yourself the space to honor that, before choosing to move forward differently.

A real-time example of creating awareness and taking action from it.

I had recorded this initial video (like 6 freaking minutes of yapping, mind you) and when I went to watch it back, I realized I accidentally turned my mic off in the beginning. So it had no sound 😭

I tried to re-record, but I was so thrown off from the first one not working. Then I started to get frustrated with myself for not speaking well or being able to form a sentence, and I could feel how in my head I was.

I then had to shake out the tension and take some deep breaths to drop back into my body. After a bit, that allowed me to record more smoothly and get it done.

This is exactly the kind of awareness we’re trying to build with somatic work. The goal isn’t to be full zen and never react to anything, it’s to interrupt the spiral in real time and pivot.

Really loving these recaps 🤍

It’s only 30(ish) days but so much happens in a month! It’s been fun to look back & reflect on everything & how good May was to me.
