From North Carolina to Kaiser LAMC, Sophia is a powerhouse on our team! A 2024 Wake Forest grad, she serves as a CRNA, Clinical Coordinator, and LAMC Union Rep.

Driven by a passion to understand the "why" behind policies, Sophia is dedicated to protecting our profession and ensuring our future CRNAs have a safe, supportive, and fun environment to thrive in.

Service extends far beyond the operating room. 🌍💙

Through the Interface Kids Program, Kaiser LAMC CRNAs Jen Hernandez, Christy Fisher, and Joanne Sells volunteered in Mexicali, Mexico, providing anesthesia care for children receiving free reconstructive surgeries alongside pediatric plastic surgeon Dr. Stacey Francis.

Talk about chasing your dreams! In 2022, Hayden packed up and moved all the way from Wisconsin to LA to pursue his passion for anesthesia—a journey that officially culminated in graduating from KPSA in 2025! 🎓✨

When he’s not in the OR, Hayden is all about making memories. During the summer, you can find him traveling the world with his wife, exploring new states and countries, discovering local foodie spots, and enjoying the great outdoors with his favorite sidekick—his cat, Scout! 🐾✈️

Calling all KPNAA CRNAs and SRNAs! It’s time to block out your calendars for the CANA Fall Meeting, happening October 23rd–25th in beautiful Northern California.

Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills, earn those crucial CE credits, or connect with your fellow California anesthesia community, this is the event of the season.

📢 Calling all DNP/DNAP Students! Got research you want to showcase? CANA is accepting abstract submissions for the popular RED Talks Series. Get your work in front of an audience of peers and leaders!
⏳ Deadline to submit is August 9, 2026.

KPNAA MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Jetrho 🇺🇸🩺

From the Marine Corps to the OR, Jetrho’s journey is pure dedication.
While serving in 2012, a chance meeting with a CRNA at Camp Pendleton sparked a brand-new mission. He balanced nursing school and the Reserves, eventually honing his skills in Cardiothoracic ICUs at Cedars, UCLA, and Stanford.

2025 was a massive milestone year: Jetrho welcomed his son and graduated from the Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia (KPSA)! 🎉

Now a CRNA at Kaiser Sunset (and working locums on the side), Jetrho spends his free time making the most of every day with his wife and son.

Thank you for your service and your dedication to our community! 💙
