Congratulations to our sweet speech graduate, Poppy! Over the past year, “Popster/Pop-Tart/Poppy Girl” brought so much imagination, laughter, and fun to our sessions. She loved games, creative play, and always kept us smiling. We are so proud of all the progress she has made and can’t wait to see all the amazing things ahead for her! 🎉

Huge shoutout to Logan on graduating from speech at Chatter & Chalk!

Your high energy, creativity, and huge personality made every session unforgettable, from racing around, epic games of freeze tag, and all the dinosaur discussions in between! You reminded us how important it is to embrace our inner child as clinicians while still working hard toward big goals. Watching your confidence and skills grow has been such a joy, and we are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished.

Congratulations, Logan! Keep racing toward your dreams and never lose that awesome imagination and spirit.

Teacher Appreciation Week at Chatter & Chalk looks a little different when your SLP gets involved. 😂

Today, Tori crashed Pre-K for some narrative language enrichment and somehow turned all of the teachers into Story Champs characters. The students took over from there, creating their own wild storylines while Tori drew what can only be described as “emotionally brave” illustrations on the whiteboard underneath each Story Champs icon: characters, setting, problem, feeling, action, and ending.

The drawings? Questionable.
The language skills? Incredible.
The children roasting the drawings while building complex narratives? Peak educational experience.

Just another normal day at Chatter & Chalk Academy, where literacy, imagination, and terrible whiteboard art come together beautifully.

Chatter & Chalk has been busy this past week representing and sharing what we love 💛

Dr. Tori Gilbert (SLP/Owner) and Megan McAuliffe (OT) presented on Assistive Technology in Pre-K and Daycare Classrooms at the Celebrating Connections 2026 Conference.

At the West Virginia Speech-Language-Hearing Association (WVSHA) Annual Convention, Dr. Gilbert and Kerry Carpenter (SLP) presented on Navigating the Clinical Fellowship Year, and Dr. Gilbert also spoke on Speech Sound Disorders.

Proud to bring this knowledge back to our students, families, and community. ✨
