Join NAMI Main Line PA for a FREE online wellness group for teens in grades 8-12. The group provides teens with a supportive space to learn skills to manage emotions and cope with academic, social, and community stressors. Two great events. One giant celebration.

Join us Friday, August 21 at 1 p.m. for our formal ribbon cutting ceremony as we celebrate the opening of Steel Valley Elementary!

Then join us again on Saturday, August 22 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for our Community Open House. We'll have information about district programs and resources, as well as a host of community partners in attendance to share details about their programs.

Come celebrate with us! Take a guided tour, meet district administration and staff, and help us open this transformational building in style!

Join SAFE Su***de Awareness for Everyone, the Su***de Prevention Taskforce of Allegheny County, for the next Community Conversation, a monthly series focused on exploring su***de prevention and awareness. Whether you’re seeking support, wanting to gain more knowledge, or simply passionate about creating healthier communities, join the conversation in your neighborhood.

The next discussion is focused on youth, and it’s taking place on August 6 from 4:00 - 5:30 PM at the Carnegie Library in Woods Run on Pittsburgh’s North Side. For more info, email SAFE at [email protected].

August will be a very busy month in the Steel Valley School District, so make sure you put these dates on your calendar.

AUGUST 19 - SVMS and SVHS Parent/Guardian Night
Middle school and high school students and families will be able to get all of the information they need to start the school year off right at our special Parent/Guardian Night. The high school session is at 6 p.m. and the middle school session will follow at 7 p.m.

AUGUST 21 - Steel Valley Elementary Ribbon Cutting
Join us at 1 p.m. for the formal opening of our brand new school! More information will be shared soon about this opportunity to celebrate this transformational project.

AUGUST 22 - Steel Valley Elementary Community Day Celebration
District families and community members are invited to join us to celebrate the start of the school year and check out the new school. The event will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with details coming soon.

AUGUST 26 - SV Elementary Parent/Guardian Night
Two sessions at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to help students and their families prepare for the start of the school year in the new school.
