🇺🇸 September 11 — Patriot Day 🇺🇸
Today, we pause to remember.
We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.
We remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, military members, and everyday Americans who showed extraordinary courage, compassion, and strength.
More than two decades later, we still carry their stories in our hearts.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget. ❤️🤍💙
🇺🇸 United we stand. Always.

💙 TUESDAY TAKEAWAY: Small Wins Still Count!
When you live with chronic pain, progress doesn’t always mean waking up completely pain-free.
Sometimes progress looks like:

🚶 Walking a little farther

🛒 Making it through the grocery store

😴 Sleeping a little better

🧹 Getting something done around the house

👨‍👩‍👧 Spending more time doing things you enjoy

📉 Having fewer “really bad” pain days

Pain management isn’t only about lowering a number on the pain scale — it’s also about helping you get more of your life back.
So if you’re doing something today that was harder for you a few months ago… that counts. 💙

✨ Tuesday Takeaway: Don’t overlook the small wins. They’re still wins!

Yesterday, we had the privilege of celebrating Dr. Todd Ussery as he begins a very well-deserved retirement. 💙
It’s hard to put into words what Dr. Ussery has meant to ISPC over the years. His compassion for his patients, dedication to his work, and kindness toward those around him have made an impact that reaches far beyond the walls of our practice.
A career may come to an end, but the difference someone makes along the way doesn’t. Dr. Ussery leaves behind countless patients whose lives he has touched, coworkers who are better for having worked beside him, and so many memories and friendships that we will carry with us for years to come.
We are incredibly grateful for the years, the laughter, the lessons, and the memories. While we will certainly miss seeing him at ISPC, we are so excited for him as he begins this next chapter.
Dr. Ussery, thank you for everything you have given to your patients, your colleagues, and the ISPC family. Your compassion and dedication have left a lasting legacy, and you will truly be missed.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Ussery and wishing him a retirement filled with happiness, relaxation, new adventures, and plenty of time to enjoy the things he loves. 💙
Happy Retirement, Dr. Ussery! You’ve earned it! 🎉

More Than Pain Relief: Getting Back to the Life You Love 💙

Living with chronic pain can slowly make your world feel smaller.

Maybe it starts with skipping a walk because your back hurts. Then you stop going shopping because standing too long is difficult. Playing with the grandkids, working in the yard, cooking dinner, traveling, exercising, or even getting a good night’s sleep can begin to feel like a challenge.

Before long, pain isn’t just something you feel — it starts deciding what you can and cannot do.

That’s where interventional pain management can make a meaningful difference.

It’s About More Than a Pain Score

Interventional treatments are designed to target specific sources of pain. Depending on the patient and their condition, treatment may include injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency procedures, spinal cord stimulation, or other minimally invasive options.

But the goal isn’t simply to change a number on the pain scale.

The bigger goal is improving quality of life.

Sometimes success looks like being able to walk through the grocery store again. 🛒

Sometimes it’s making it through a full workday, sleeping more comfortably, getting back into the garden, attending a family event, or saying “yes” to plans instead of wondering whether pain will allow it.

Those everyday moments matter.

When You Feel Stuck

Chronic pain can be frustrating because it often creates a cycle: It hurts to move, so you move less. You move less, so everyday activities become harder. Eventually, you may feel like you’re watching life happen around you instead of participating in it.

Interventional treatments may provide another option when conservative treatments alone haven’t provided enough relief.

Every patient is different, and no single treatment is right for everyone. That’s why a personalized treatment plan matters — one built around the source of your pain, your health, and most importantly, what you want to get back to doing.

Because Quality of Life Matters 💙

Pain management isn’t necessarily about promising a life completely free from pain.

It’s about asking a better question:

“What would you be able to do if your pain wasn’t holding you back quite so much?”

Maybe your answer is walking farther.

Maybe it’s returning to a hobby.

Maybe it’s keeping up with your family.

Or maybe it’s simply waking up and feeling like you have choices again.

Interventional pain treatments can be one part of helping patients move from feeling limited by pain toward living a more active, fulfilling life.

Because sometimes the biggest victory isn’t saying, “My pain is gone.”

It’s being able to say:

“I’m doing the things I love again.” 💙
