What if instead of expecting our grief to get smaller, the space that holds our grief just grows larger?

When we experience loss, it can feel like grief is taking up all of the space in our lives. As time goes on, our grief doesn’t shrink. Rather, our lives expand with new experiences, relationships, healing and opportunities. We may notice our grief less as we expand our lives, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t still there. We can honor the space our grief takes up while also growing the space around it to expand our lives.
