BIG THINGS HAPPENING with T2U this month!

In just 12 days, the Horry CAST (Community Action for a Safer Tomorrow) will be hosting a FREE event for the youth of our community!

This coalition is made up of numerous community partners, including law enforcement, schools, prevention programs, mental health providers, healthcare professionals, and other agencies dedicated to improving the well-being of youth and families throughout Horry County.

The coalition's mission is to address public health issues through the promotion, coordination, and support of programs and resources, with a primary focus on reducing youth substance use.

We are especially proud that our owner, Corrie Farrar, has been an active volunteer member of the coalition for over a decade, serving in leadership roles as both Vice-Chair and Chair during that time. We are also proud that one of our therapists, Emily Tunstall, currently serves as the coalition's Secretary.

T2U Counseling is proud to donate to this event and serve as a vendor to help in bridging the gap between our youth and Law Enforcement. Come out and play, spectate or just hang out!!!

Please join us in welcoming our new therapist to the T2U team!

Originally from Kansas City, Kansas, and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, she has called Spartanburg, South Carolina home for the past 10 years. She is married, has raised four children, and enjoys spending time horseback riding, reading, traveling, listening to music, and enjoying nature.

With over 12 years of experience in the mental health field, she has worked in a variety of settings including crisis intervention, intensive in-home services, equine therapy, and outpatient therapy. She has extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse, trafficking, and other life challenges.

Her therapeutic approach is person-centered and goal-oriented, focusing on empowering clients to have an active voice in their healing journey. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based approaches including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Strengths-Based Therapy.

She believes that therapy is not one-size-fits-all and works collaboratively with each client to develop an individualized treatment plan that meets their unique needs and goals.

She will be providing services under the clinical supervision of Corrie Farrar, LISW-CP/S, owner of True To You Counseling.

Very special guest in the T2U house today! This is the owner’s dog, Sully. He is a perfect blend of love and cuddles! He is currently going through therapy dog training and has completed 3 levels of training thus far (18 classes). He is making the Honor Roll, Teacher’s Pet and is looking forward to his next classes!!

Pet therapy can provide comfort, reduce stress, and improve overall emotional well-being. Interacting with animals has been shown to lower anxiety, decrease feelings of loneliness, and promote relaxation by reducing stress hormones and increasing the release of feel-good chemicals like serotonin and oxytocin.

My husband thinks I just want to bring my dog to work- and he isn’t lying BUT everyone gets to enjoy him too!

We are excited to announce that our owner, Corrie is now officially licensed as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in the state of North Carolina in addition to her LISW-CP in South Carolina!

With this additional licensure, True to You is now able to provide support to even more individuals and families across state lines, increasing access to our compassionate, client-centered mental health care. NC residents can now seek services from us via Telehealth from across the state!

Two Carolinas are better than one!!!
