Restore Small Groups Helping people transform their lives through safe, quality, and affordable peer-to-peer small groups. Everyone is struggling with something. You are not alone!

In small group, we extend love, empathy, and respect to each other in our shared humanity. Our groups consist of 5 to10 participants and 2 trained facilitators, all who commit to an 8-week journey together. In group we get to the heart of our struggles, building intentional, healing relationships on the way. With thousands of participants worldwide, we have seen transformation in the areas of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-worth, grief and loss, rage, loneliness, or anything else holding you back from a full life. Restore Small Groups was founded by Scott Reall at the YMCA of Middle Tennessee and now operates as it's own non-profit. Scott and Executive Director Sara Hamill work to intentionally provide Journey to Freedom, our flagship book, and other small groups as a means to offer a path to lasting transformation for anyone dealing with life's struggles.

Recently, our Restore partners in Belize celebrated 250 graduates of the Journey to Freedom series at Belize Central Prison!

Over the past 14 years, approximately 7,750 incarcerated individuals have completed Journey to Freedom through the Kolbe Foundation.

Behind every number is a person with a story, a life of dignity and worth, and the possibility of a new beginning.

We’re incredibly grateful for our partners in Belize and their continued commitment to creating spaces where healing, freedom, and transformation are possible.

Sometimes the most meaningful change begins when we have the courage to take an honest look at ourselves.

You don’t have to do the work of growth alone. We’d love for you to experience a Restore group!

PARTNER FEATURE: Fulton First UMC | Fulton, Kentucky

For more than 150 years, Fulton First UMC has been serving its community, from feeding 500 families each month to opening a childcare center in an area where care is deeply needed.

Now, they’re creating space for something just as essential: deeper connection.

After experiencing Journey to Freedom firsthand, Sue Engle saw an opportunity to bridge the church’s Sunday morning and Friday night communities through meaningful conversations, vulnerability, and shared growth.

Their first group launched just weeks ago, and already, the conversations are deeper than Sue ever imagined. Participants are exploring their questions, feelings, and reflections together, building the kind of connections that help us feel known, heard, and supported.

We’re grateful for Sue and the Fulton First community for embracing this work and creating space for people to grow together.

Restore groups are 8-week facilitated small group experiences designed to help people slow down, explore the patterns and beliefs that shape their lives, and experience greater freedom, connection, and wholeness.

Our goal is simple: make it easy for organizations to offer a Restore group without having to build a new program from the ground up.

You don’t have to recruit and train facilitators or create the curriculum. We’ll come alongside you and provide the group structure, materials, and trained facilitators to lead it.

If your organization is already caring for people and you’re looking for a deeper resource for their mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, we’d love to connect.

This is our Process of Transformation.

We all share a deep desire to be loved, known, valued, and to belong.

But along the way, life shapes us. Our experiences become a story, our story becomes a lens, and that lens shapes how we respond to ourselves, others, and God.

Sometimes those responses help us survive, but eventually they can keep us stuck.

Transformation begins when we interrupt those patterns.

In a Restore group, we create space to slow down, tell the truth about our lives, and be compassionately witnessed by others.

Through awareness, vulnerability, hope, and community, we can begin to see differently, respond differently, and move toward a healthier way of living.

You don’t have to do the work alone.

We weren’t meant to change alone.

God often brings healing and growth through safe, honest community, where we can be known, tell the truth about our lives, and walk alongside one another.
