From September 9–13, I’ll be sourcing the Gem Show for HAUM — new stones, jewelry, carvings, extraordinary objects, and whatever stops me in my tracks.

Meanwhile, HAUM Nashville remains open. Our instructors will be in the studio with our regular schedule while I’m away.

This photo is seven years old.

It moved with me through four different HAUM studios. For seven years, I wanted this exact dog. It was never the right place or the right time, but I kept the photo.

Then, after years of looking and months of searching for the right breeder, I finally got frustrated and said it out loud:

“I want my dog. And I want him now.”

Three hours later, I opened Instagram.

A puppy had suddenly become available. His family had backed out at the last minute, and he needed someone who could take him right away.

Same breed. Same color. Same ridiculous teddy-bear face.

It was Pumpernickel.

Seven years of carrying the picture.
Three hours after saying it out loud.

Sometimes the things we want don’t need to be explained away or made smaller. Sometimes we just need to name them.

We love Dolly so much, HAUM asked ꧁ 𝕊𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕊𝕡𝕒𝕣𝕜 ꧂ for two crystal grids in her honor seven years ago.

Our Fountain of Love was inspired by the glorious pink chandelier White Limozeen —created simply to fill your heart with joy. Years later came Hard Candy: hard times, sweet memories, and the courage to keep going.

And somehow, seeing our Fountain of Love illuminated by the sun feels just right today. ✨

I guess the rest of us will have to swell our chests a little bigger and pour a little more love into the world.

We’ve got an awfully big brassiere to fill.

We love you, Dolly. Now and forever. 💗
