Taking care of our bodies started early for me — a real blessing, looking back.
The truth is, most of us reach adulthood knowing almost nothing about our own organs. And that’s not our fault! But what if, instead of learning the ABCs first thing in kindergarten, we learned about our bodies? Our organs?
Anyone remember the show THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS, and the episode where they journey into the body? That was the coolest and certainly impacted me. I also believe learning about the body is fun, extraordinary, and taps us into our universal magic.
Take the small intestine — it sorts through everything we eat, pulling out exactly what we need. How cool is that? Learning something like this as kids could plant a lifelong sense of respect and wonder for our own bodies.
Esoterically, the small intestine holds space for acceptance and non-acceptance — discarding what we don’t need while holding tight to what matters. It’s also tied to how we process intensity and anxiety.
Imagine how differently we’d see ourselves — and the world — if we grew up knowing that!
