As sauna gatherings continue to gain steam, I’d like to pay homage to one of the originals: National Sauna Day in Embarrass, Minnesota. Put on by the organization SISU Heritage.

Nobody seems to know exactly when it started, but it’s been running for many years, making it a great tradition (without needing to compare it to others).

Warm gratitude to the Finnish immigrants who brought sauna with them and lit a candle that continues to help light other candles.

Good heat knows no borders.

“Thank you for the sauna build ebook. I have had my sauna operational for about 1 month and love it. The book was invaluable in the build. I did a 8"x12" building with an 8x6 hot room and an 8x6 cooling room.

My family is loving the sauna and we have family sauna night on Thursdays. I have had several friends come and all have had a great experience.

I have attached a few pictures of the finished hot room. Thanks for making a great resource.

I announced my upcoming book with Tom Rolando, Sauna Life, at Sauna Days this past weekend. I had hoped to have 50 advance copies ready, but like a good sauna, the best things aren’t rushed.

We’re now anticipating a fall release, with ordering details available on SaunaTimes.com once everything is dialed.
