As the leaves start to turn, it’s a good reminder: transitions are hard, even good ones. * Fall invites a slower pace, cozy layers, earlier sunsets, a little more stillness.

What’s one thing you’re releasing this season, and one thing you’re welcoming in?

Back-to-school anxiety isn’t just for kids.
Parents carry it too - juggling schedules, finances, and worry about how your child will adjust.

This Labor Day, we honor the immigrants and workers whose courage, dedication, and contributions have helped build America. We celebrate the strength of our communities while remembering that mental health and well-being are essential to a thriving society.

You don’t have to carry it all alone. 💛
Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Therapy is a space to be heard, supported, and understood — especially when things feel heavy.
Your feelings matter. You matter.
It’s okay to seek help. It’s okay to talk. 🫶🏽

Some days, you may feel okay. Other days, a memory, a place, or a quiet moment can bring everything back.
There is no “right” way to grieve, and healing doesn’t mean forgetting. Give yourself permission to move through grief at your own pace — with rest, support, and community when you need it.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. 🤍

Our Post-Doctoral Fellowship is a rare setup: a modern private practice, evidence-based training with individuals, couples, and families, and supervision from psychologists who believe diversity drives excellence. We’re a practice as culturally and ethnically diverse as the city we serve. If you’re finishing your doctorate and you don’t want to choose between excellent training and doing work that matters to your community — talk to us. 🔗 in bio.

Advocacy season starts before the school year does. Several of our clinicians have worked inside NYC schools and can support families through evaluations, meetings, and documentation. We also provide consultation and services directly to schools.

When a kid won’t go to school, the instinct is to treat it as a discipline problem. Usually it’s an anxiety problem wearing a defiance costume. Avoidance works — every morning they stay home, the anxiety drops, and the pattern gets stronger. Which is why “just make them go” and “let them stay home” both backfire. The way through is graded return with support, and it works better the earlier you start. If last spring was hard, don’t wait for September to repeat it.
