LMHS held a Walk With A Doc event on Saturday, October 10. Participants enjoyed an outdoor walk at Geller Park in Heath as Brent M. Savage, M.D., of Licking Memorial Surgical Services, discussed and answered general questions about hernias. Blood pressure screenings and healthy snacks were provided.

LMH hosted the Polly Mitchen Volunteer Recruitment Event on September 29. Attendees were offered the opportunity to learn about volunteer positions and talk with current volunteers about their experiences.

Every year, clinical staff who work at Licking Memorial Hospital, and clinical staff who work in Licking Memorial Health Professionals (LMHP) offices, are required to participate in Skills Days, an educational event to assist staff members in updating and sharpening important patient care skills and competencies. Skill stations were arranged throughout the Tamarack II and Tamarack III Education Centers. Instructors decorated the classrooms and hallways in a safari theme, which provided a fun Skills Days experience.

The Dining with the Stars program is designed to thank individuals and departments when positive feedback about their customer service is submitted to Licking Memorial Health Systems. Each honoree receives an exclusive invitation to attend a Dining with the Stars meal. Dining with the Stars breakfasts and luncheons are hosted at LMH by President & CEO Rob Montagnese. Now is the optimal time for children and adults to receive the influenza vaccine. Getting a flu shot during this time allows protection to build before flu activity starts to increase. LMHS is offering the Be Wise…Immunize youth flu immunization event on Saturday, October 17 in Downtown Newark and Saturday, October 24 in Pataskala. Registration is required. Schedule an appointment by calling (220) 564-4722. Walk-ins are also accepted every Wednesday, no appointment needed, at the Diagnostic Imaging Center location.
