Active•Fit and Active•Senior Bowling took place June 10 at Park Lanes in Heath. Licking County youth, ages 6 to 12, and Licking County seniors, ages 60 or older, enjoyed two hours of free bowling. Prize drawings occurred every 15 minutes throughout the event giving attendees a chance to win gift cards to local businesses.

LMHS is looking forward to our annual “For Your Health” 5K Run/Walk & 1-mile Fun Walk at The Dawes Arboretum to be held one month from today! The 5K begins at 8:00 a.m., and the walk starts immediately after. Registration for runners and walkers with timing chips is $15, if received by Friday, July 10, at 5:00 p.m., and $20 thereafter. There is no fee for the 1-mile Fun Walk, or for participants who are not timed; however, registration is required. Registration for both courses may be completed by visiting racepenguin.com/events/foryourhealth/

The Licking Memorial Health Foundation hosted a special event to thank those who made generous financial contributions to LMHS. The Donor Appreciation Reception provided an opportunity to express appreciation to donors with appetizers and a gift. LMHS President & CEO Rob Montagnese offered an update on the construction of The Center at LMHS, a new facility that will provide a central location for health education, activities, and events that support the LMHS mission to improve the health of the community. He also reassured donors that LMHS continues to remain independent and financially stable.

On June 5, LMHS hosted Camp Feelin’ Fine, a one-day camp for children with asthma led by LMHS healthcare specialists. Children participated in fun, educational games with a space theme while learning how to stay healthy. The asthma healthcare team consists of physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses, and many other healthcare providers and volunteers.

Participants will enjoy a casual, 40-minute walk at The Dawes Arboretum as Dr. Seipel leads a discussion and answers questions about diabetes. Healthy snacks and blood pressure screenings will be provided. Registration is required for this free event and may be completed by calling the Licking Memorial Events Line at (220) 564-1560.
