Bring the entire family to a free, fun Active•Fit Youth Wellness event and stay for Family Movie Night. LMHS will present an outdoor screening of Disney’s Zootopia 2 on Friday, June 12. The event will include inflatable fun areas and information tables. Free snacks and beverages will be provided throughout the evening. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and you can bring lawn chairs and blankets for a comfortable viewing experience. Alcoholic beverages, to***co products, and pets are prohibited.

Please join Andrew Seipel, M.D., of Licking Memorial Family Practice – Licking Valley, for a Walk with a Doc event on Saturday, June 27. Participants will enjoy a casual, 40-minute walk at The Dawes Arboretum as Dr. Seipel leads a discussion and answers questions about diabetes. Youth, ages 6 to 12, and seniors, ages 60 and over, are invited to join Licking Memorial Health Systems for Active•Fit and Active•Senior Bowling on Wednesday, June 10, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The event will take place at Park Lanes Bowling Center in Heath and includes free bowling during a two-hour period. Congratulations to the LMHS Project SEARCH interns Class of 2026! Licking Memorial Health Systems recently hosted a graduation ceremony at the Reese Center for five students who participated in the LMHS Project SEARCH internship program during the 2025-2026 school year. Each intern had the opportunity to speak at the event and share about their work experiences, what they learned through the program, and plans for their future. The graduates represented school districts throughout Licking County, including Granville, Licking Heights, Licking Valley, Newark, Utica, and Southwest Licking. Special thanks to the Licking Regional Education Service Center, Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, and Greenleaf Job Training Services, Inc., for helping to make this program successful.

Cheryl Barker, Au.D., CCC-A, of Clear Choice Audiology, will host a discussion on living well with the challenge of hearing loss and tinnitus. A focused presentation regarding the impact of hearing loss on wellness will be followed by a question-and-answer period specific to participant concerns and next steps for those struggling with hearing loss. LMHS is looking forward to our annual “For Your Health” 5K Run/Walk & 1-mile Fun Walk at The Dawes Arboretum on July 18! The Honorary Chairs this year are Terrill Burnworth, D.O., and his family, Brittney, Andrew, and Maddox. The 5K begins at 8:00 a.m., and the walk starts immediately after. Registration for runners and walkers with timing chips is $15, if received by Friday, July 10, at 5:00 p.m., and $20 thereafter. There is no fee for the 1-mile Fun Walk, or for participants who are not timed; however, registration is required. Roughly 48 million Americans suffer from some degree of hearing loss, with or without tinnitus. For many of these people, hearing loss remains the unsolved mystery that often results in a poor quality of life. Yet there is hope for real solutions in current treatment strategies designed to address each person’s unique needs.
