This week, we celebrated our wonderful dietary team in honor of National Foodservice Workers Week! Our dietary staff play an important role in our community by providing nutritious meals and making sure our residents feel cared for each day.

They understand that food is more than just a meal. It’s a source of comfort, a familiar routine, and a way to show someone they matter. Through their consistency and dedication, they help make mealtimes something our residents can look forward to.

We were feelin’ a little bit country on Friday as we celebrated Dolly Parton Day! Our Activities Coordinator went all out and dressed up as Dolly, and we enjoyed some of Dolly’s favorite foods while listening to her greatest hits. We even had a fun Dolly look-alike contest to see who could best channel the country legend!

It was a boot-stompin’ good time filled with music, laughter and plenty of Dolly spirit. What a fun way to celebrate and honor such a beloved country icon!

Last week, our memory care residents had a blast playing a game of noodleball, led by Judy, one of our amazing aides! Using pool noodles, residents worked together to keep a balloon from hitting the floor while enjoying plenty of laughs and friendly competition. Noodleball is a fun way to encourage hand-eye coordination, cognitive engagement and movement while also creating opportunities to socialize and spend quality time with friends.

On Monday, our Speret Hall Coordinator put together a soup and salad bar for our staff in honor of World Alzheimer’s Day. Staff also received a pin to wear as a show of support for the residents we serve living with Alzheimer’s disease. It was a meaningful way for our team to come together, show their support and help raise awareness for those living with Alzheimer’s. 💜

On Friday, we celebrated National Senior Citizens Day with a fun-filled day of connection and celebration! We invited our sister facility, Altercare Newark South, to join us for Bingo, ice cream sundaes, and plenty of games and laughter.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow seniors, make new memories, and celebrate the incredible residents who are truly the heart of our facility. 💙
