We are so excited to announce that Brenda De Los Santos is teaching a brand new class at Niantic Yoga Studio starting tomorrow!!!!😍🥳

Mondays 7:30am Vinyasa Yoga💛

Brenda De Los Santos is a Puerto Rican yoga teacher, professional photographer, and lifelong New London resident.

After practicing yoga on and off for 15 years, Brenda completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training with Yogatrotter in Bali, Indonesia in February 2026.

Throughout her own yoga journey, she often found herself as the only person who looked like her in the spaces where she practiced. While yoga offered healing, strength, and connection, those spaces did not always feel representative of the diverse community she calls home, which led her to found Community Yoga New London .

Rooted in community, accessibility, and belonging, her classes offer options for different bodies, abilities, and experience levels and are built on the belief that yoga is for every body.

Have you ever experienced Kirtan?

Kirtan is a heart-opening practice of singing or chanting simple mantras together in community. You don’t need to be a singer, know Sanskrit, or have any experience, just come as you are🤗

In the yoga tradition, mantra is considered a form of meditation. As the mind softens into repetition, the heart has space to open. Some people leave feeling energized, others deeply peaceful, and many simply feel more connected to themselves, to each other, and to something greater.

No experience necessary!
All voices are welcome!
Come listen, sing, meditate, or simply soak in the music🥰

Join us every Sunday from 12-1pm for an hour of music, community, and devotion🎶

One of our favorite things to hear from students is:

“I’m finally realizing yoga is so much more than just the poses.”🥹

It makes our hearts so happy every single time💛

Asana (the physical practice) is just one of the eight limbs of yoga. When you begin exploring the philosophy behind the practice, you stop feeling like you’re simply moving through poses, and start embodying what yoga truly is.

The Yamas and Niyamas invite us into ways of being. They encourage us to move through life with compassion for ourselves and others (Ahimsa), speak truthfully (Satya), cultivate contentment (Santosha), and deepen our self-study (Svadhyaya) — just to name a few😉

Yoga also includes meditation (in its many forms), breathwork, and other beautiful inner practices like Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi.

And when you begin to understand where the poses come from and why we practice the way we do, another layer of the practice unfolds.

We come together to move our bodies, but we leave with so much more. We leave feeling lighter, more connected, and more empowered to meet our everyday lives with presence☺️

If you’re longing for a deeper connection to your practice — and to yourself — we’d love to walk that path with you💛

Here at Niantic Yoga Studio , we take consent, autonomy, and creating a safe space very seriously. Every student deserves to feel comfortable, respected, and empowered in their body. Here’s how we support that:

✨ Consent Cards
At the beginning of every class, you’ll receive a consent card with “Yes Please” on one side and “No Thank You” on the other. Cards begin on “No Thank You,” and you choose if (and when) you’d like to flip it. You can also change your mind at any point during class. Your consent is always yours to give, withdraw, or change💛

✨ Intentional Touch
Our hands-on assists are offered to provide loving support, grounding, and gentle alignment cues. They are never intended to push you deeper into a posture. We trust that you know your body best, and we believe you should always be in charge of how deeply you explore a pose.

Yoga isn’t about achieving the “deepest” expression of a posture — it’s about cultivating awareness, presence, and a relationship with your own body.

We’d love to hear from you! Do you enjoy hands-on assists in yoga classes, or do you prefer verbal cues? Let us know in the comments below🫶🏻

Join us for this pop-up outdoor vinyasa yoga class at McCook Point Park this Wednesday & Thursday at 7:30am with Bethany Kovo !🌞🌊

Bring your own yoga mat and/or towel to practice on🧘

Plan to park at Hole in the Wall Beach. From the parking area, walk under the train tunnel, and follow the path to the right, continuing closest to the water, until you reach the top of the hill near the giant tree stump, where you’ll see Bethany set up. It’s about a ten minute walk to the top of the hill, so plan to arrive early.

Let the parking staff at Hole in the Wall Beach know that you’re there just for the path/boardwalk and not for the beach, and you can park for free. If the weather looks bad, we’ll let you know by 7pm the night before if the class is cancelled, so keep an eye on your inbox!

Vinyasa is the practice of combining breath and movement as a moving meditation that brings union to the mind, body, and spirit. Why practice yoga?🧘

Yoga is a gift to yourself that keeps on giving long after you leave the mat. Through yoga you connect with your body, with your breath, with the present moment, and with the divine. You learn how your body likes to move, how to cultivate strength through poses, how to cultivate peace through your breath. You learn how to be in your body and in the moment even more. Yoga gives us tools to help regulate our nervous systems so we can move through the world with a little more ease😌

Yes, there are many physical benefits to yoga, and there are so many wonderful mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits too. Whether you’re looking to move your body, de-stress, be in community, or connect with a higher power - Niantic Yoga can help you experience all of it🫶🏻

NianticYoga.com has our full schedule! And if you’re new to the studio, we have a first time access pass where you can try 2 weeks of unlimited yoga to see which types of classes align best with you. Have any questions? Our inbox is always open💛
