⭐September 13 - 19th is Assisted Living Week,⭐ and we are celebrating each day with residents, family, and staff. Today we shared stories in our ⭐"Shining Through the Years"⭐ show-and-tell session, learning a bit more about fellow residents--their lives, hobbies, and talents! We have a remarkable and awsome community! Thanks to everyone who participated today-you made the session one to cherish!❤️❤️

📘Understanding history helps us understand the world we live in today. This week , our residents explored the life of🎩 Winston Churchill and the extraordinary story of World War II. 🌎 We learned about Churchill’s leadership,🎩 his famous speeches, and the difficult years when Britain and its allies faced tremendous challenges. For many of our residents, WWII is more than a chapter in a textbook—it is part of the history they remember and lived through.

“If we conferred with our furry friends, man to animal; think of all the things we could discuss!” 🎶 — Doctor Dolittle. We talked, hugged, petted, and delighted in the sweet presence of baby animals this week! 🐐🐰🐶 Their softness, gentle nature, and playful personalities brought smiles all around . There’s something truly special about the comfort and joy animals bring to our lives. It was a wonderful reminder that sometimes the best conversations don’t require words at all. ❤️🐾

Art was the destination for this week’s outing! 🎨 Residents visited Gallery Nantasket at the Nantasket Beach Resort to explore "The Artists' Choice," an ever-changing showcase of talented local painters, photographers, sculptors, and other artists. From colorful paintings to imaginative sculptures, there was something new and inspiring around every corner. 🖼️ Our residents enjoyed discovering the creativity of artists right in our own community. It was a wonderful afternoon of art, conversation, and, of course, a little seaside inspiration! 🌊✨ At The Cordwainer, we believe there’s always something new to see, learn, and appreciate. Always learning, always exploring! 💙

And all that Jazz! 🎶Our music therapist, Leasia, brought jazz music alive this week, with wonderful listening and playing sessions to some of the greats: Ella, Satchmo, Nat. We are blessed to have her Berklee College of Music🎶 training, and more importantly, her energy, enthusiasm, and vibe! (She also snuck in some snuggles with the farm animals who visited. . . more on this tomorrow!)

Our gardens are yielding gorgeous vegetables, such as zucchini, tomatoes and eggplants. Our season of planning, planting, weeding, and watering is really paying off and is seen on our plates at lunch and dinner!
