What an incredible weekend at our Leading By Example Annual Back-to-School Event! 🎉🎒

Better Together: Building Bridges Between Behavioral Health & Recovery 💜🤝

Today, Leading By Example's Outreach and Communication Specialist had the pleasure of visiting Voices of Hope Maryland for a tour of their facilities and to share more about the behavioral health services we provide throughout Maryland.

We left inspired by the incredible work their team is doing to support individuals and families affected by substance use disorders. Through peer recovery support, recovery housing, harm reduction, overdose prevention, family support, community education, workforce development, and 24/7 recovery resources, Voices of Hope empowers individuals to find hope, healing, and lasting recovery.

At Leading By Example, we know that recovery often involves more than addressing one need. Many individuals living with substance use disorders also experience mental health challenges, making access to coordinated, whole-person care essential.

That's where our partnership comes in.

Together, our organizations can provide a seamless continuum of care, connecting individuals with the behavioral health treatment, recovery support, housing, case management, and community resources they need to achieve long-term stability and wellness.

A sincere thank you to the Voices of Hope team for your warm welcome, the tour, and the opportunity to explore how we can strengthen our partnership. We are excited about what's ahead and look forward to working together to better serve our communities.

When behavioral health and recovery services work together, individuals don't just survive, they have the opportunity to truly THRIVE.

We had an incredible time partnering with NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore to host a mental health resource table at the Essex Library today. Bringing vital support, educational materials, and care resources directly into the heart of our neighborhood is what it’s all about.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, grab resources, or just say hello. Together, we are breaking the stigma and building a healthier, more supportive community.

The Community Behavioral Health Association of Maryland brought together over 100 members for the Annual Member Meeting; a day of learning, connection, and celebrating the incredible people driving behavioral health forward in Maryland.

Leading By Example is a strong supporter of CBH’s vision as a high-quality system of public behavioral health care for individuals and families in Maryland. Leading By Example’s Co-Founder, Johnnie Fielding, has long supported the mission of the Community Behavioral Health Association, most recently as Board President in FY2026.

On June 10th, families were invited to attend the 16th Annual 2026 Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center Adolescent Resource Fair hosted by the Circuit Court for Baltimore City Juvenile Division at the Middle Branch Fitness & Wellness Center.
