🇺🇸 June 6, 1944 – D-Day 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember one of the most significant days in world history. On June 6, 1944, more than 156,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, in the largest amphibious military invasion ever conducted.

Facing unimaginable danger, these brave men fought through enemy fire, rough seas, and overwhelming obstacles to begin the liberation of Western Europe from N**i occupation. Their courage, sacrifice, and determination changed the course of World War II and helped secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

As we mark the anniversary of D-Day, we honor the heroes who landed on the beaches of Omaha, Utah, Gold, Juno, and Sword. We remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and express our deepest gratitude to the generation that answered the call when freedom was threatened.

May we never forget their valor, their service, and the price paid for liberty.

Please join us in congratulating John Decker on becoming the 123rd President of OKFDA. His installation marks not only a personal achievement, but the continuation of an incredible family legacy of leadership and service within our profession.

John follows in the footsteps of two remarkable women in his family—his grandmother, Irene Lanman, who made history as OKFDA’s first lady president, and his cousin, Kacey Ferguson, who carried that legacy forward as the association’s second lady president.

Three generations. One shared commitment to excellence, compassion, and service to funeral directors across Oklahoma.

John’s leadership represents both the strength of tradition and the promise of the future. We are excited to see the impact he will make in guiding OKFDA forward.
