Several members of the APC Lab and other labs at Boys Town Hearing Research presented research findings at the International Hearing Aid Conference in Banff, Canada this past week. We left with many inspiring ideas and connections with colleagues from around the world!

Exciting news for our lab! We’ve been awarded a new NIH R01 grant to study children with unilateral hearing loss. Over the next 5 years, our team will investigate methods to support evidence-based care for children and their families. We’re looking forward to beginning this work and contributing new knowledge that can help shape clinical practice for years to come. Follow along and stay tuned for our findings and ways to support recruitment!

Along with collaborators, we recently published an article highlighting qualitative findings from structured interviews with families who have children who are hard of hearing. The takeaways? Most families are unfamiliar with audibility-based counseling but think it would be helpful.
